Recap:

"Got it. Bye Aunt."

The phone hung up. I turned to look out side. We were right outside my house.

"Is everything alright?" Travis asked.

I turned to look at him. "Would you like to stay for a bit?"

------------------------------

At first Travis looked confused. "What?"

"I said, 'would you like to stay for a bit.'" I answered.

"Oh," he broke out into a grin. "Well then, sure. I'd love to stay."

I smiled. "Great."

I opened the car door and got out. Travis did the same. We walked to the door and I took out the keys to the house. It unlocked and I pushed the door open. Travis and I walked in the house. He looked around the living room while I turned on the lights.

I set my bags on the couch and sat down next to it. Travis was walking by the wall looking at the pictures.

"There's a lot of pictures here, " Travis said.

"Yeah, my uncle's into photography and shiz. I guess he got me into that too so if you see a bad picture, it's probably mine."

"You take pictures? Like with a real camera and stuff."

"No, I take fake photos with a banana," I said sarcastically.

Travis ignored my comment. "So which ones are yours?"

"The ones to the left side of the wall."

Travis moved farther left and studied it for a long time. He was taking too long so I just pulled out my book. I opened it to my page. in When You Reach Me.

"Hey!" Colin said when he saw me. "I thought you lived in this building. Want to skate a little?" He picked up his skateboard and held it out to me.

I glanced at Sal, who was concentrating on his basketball like the whole concept of bouncing had just been invented and was really very amazing and deserving of attention. He had developed a way of waving at me without making eye contact-it was kind of a no-look pass.

I was about to continue reading when I was so rudely interrupted.

"Wow, princess. This is amazing!" Travis exclaimed.

"Really? I'm not so sure."

"Well I'm sure. And don't say that. Never put yourself down. Putting yourself down is the worse thing you could do. Besides, this really is good"

I blushed slightly. "Um, thanks?"

"No problem," he smiled. "So this is your place?"

"Um, yeah. I guess."

"It's nice."

"Thanks, again."

"No problem, again."

I rolled my eyes. "So, do you want to put your stuff down or are you just going to be carrying it the whole time your here?"

"I think I'll put it down, thanks for the offer... Where do I put it?"

"You can set it down by my bag."

"Okay."

"I'm gonna go get a glass of water. Want a drink?"

"No thanks."

"Okay." I went to the kitchen and poured myself water. When I went back to the living room I saw something that totally shocked me. I've never seen it happen before, but here it is, right in my living room.
