Jack took me behind the wall an out of sight. When we were completely safe, he turned me to face him.
"Jack, what's this all about?" I asked, lost.
"Look, I know we just met days ago but, how do I say this, Mariah I like you. A lot. And it would be amazing if you would be my girlfriend!" He sputtered out the last sentence. I was taken aback. Girlfriend? He wanted me to be his girlfriend? I can't be a girlfriend! I could hardly be a regular friend!
"Jack I-" he cut me off.
"Look, don't decide now. Take your time, it's a lot to take in and I'm willing to wait." He smiled and kissed me. And that's when I knew what I had to do. I was going to tell Logan how I feel. Well, kind of. I'm going to tell him what jack asked and see his reaction. Then, according to that, ill decide if I want to tell him or not. Web the kiss finally ended, Jack took us back to the office. Logan wasn't there. It was only Blake.
"Blake, where's Logan? I want to tell him something." I asked.
"He should be in the study." Blake said. I nodded my head and went over. Logan was there, but so was Maricel. They were talking about something.
"I have to tell Mariah about this." It was Logan.
"Okay so tell her." Maricel replied. This was it. He must like me. That's what they're talking about. I opened the door and as I was stepping in, my heart dropped. Maricel and Logan were kissing. They didn't even notice me. I shut the door and ran. He didn't like me. He liked my sister. That's what he wanted to tell me. To back off. That he was taken already.
"Mariah?" It was Logan. I quickly fixed myself up and smiled when he came.
"Hey Logan,"
"Hey, Blake told me you were looking for me?" He said walking closer. I had to come up with something.
"Um, yeah. Jack asked me out, and I want to say yes." His smile disappeared, then reappeared as quickly.
"That's great. I'm so, so happy for you too." I faked a smile.
"Thanks. Better go tell him the good news I guess."
I got up and left Logan, looking for Jack. He was sitting in Adam's chair, and playing with the nick-knacks on the table.
"Hey Jack, want a girlfriend?" I asked. He dropped everything he had and came over to me, wrapping his arms around my waist.
"Depends, who's the girl?" He smirked. So, he wanted to play this game? Well I could play harder.
"Well, she looks like me," I teased.
"Huh, is it you by chance?" He bit his lower lip.
"Nope, my twin sister Maricel." His face dropped. My voice cracked at the sound of her name. Twin sister. Lately I don't even think we are sisters.
"I'm kidding. Me. I'll be your girlfriend." I faked a smile. He smiled back and kissed me.
"No, John, I called Freddie, she didn't even show up to his party!" I broke off the kiss and Logan ran over.
"Adam's outside. Find a place and hide. Don't. Make. A. Sound." He was serious. We nodded our heads and Jack took me to a closet nearest to us. The door opened once we stepped in. Talk about good timing.
"John, I'm trying just as hard as you to look for her. You think I like the fact that we lost our sister?" He paused. Guess he was on his phone.
"No, Maricel was an accident loosing her. Mariah was our fault. We didn't listen to her at all. Correction, you didn't listen to her at all, I tried to! And now she's probably half way around the world with that, that boy that your stupid team let go!"
And then, it happened. I had to sneeze. Great, this was not going to end well. Jack must have noticed my weird expressions. He shook his head and place his hand on my nose, pinching it to make sure I wouldn't sneeze. After a while, I nodded my head, signalizing that I was okay and it had passed. The second he released his hand from my nose, I did it. I sneezed.
"John we'll find-" Adam stopped.
"Hold up, I think I heard someone sneeze." Jack looked at me, clearly nervous and didn't know what to do. Oh shit, this time, Logan was going to kill me for sure. I heard footsteps coming closer and closer. Jack pulled me closer to the back, hiding us with stuff that could be moved quietly and quickly. The door slowly opened, and my heart was pounding. Adam took a glance inside then quickly shut the door. I exhaled a deep breath. That was close.
"Nah, it must have been my imagination." He voice faded as he left the room.
"Okay, come out now." Logan called out after he was sure Adam was gone. We all piled out. I avoided eye contact with Logan. He was going to kill me for sneezing. Sadly, he walked right over to me. Jack held my waist from behind me while Logan got closer. When he was right there he lifted my head to face him.
"Logan I-" I started before he cut me off.
"It's fine, Maricel saw it coming and told me right away. I had a plan to fix it. Blake was on stand by to brain wash him at any time." He smiled and I nodded back, turning to face Jack. He embraced me in a hug and all I could think of was that he had hid with Maricel. He and Maricel were serious. And I had to move on. I had a boyfriend now after all.
"Mariah! I knew it was you!" I turned around at the voice. Standing at the door was none other then Adam, the one we were just hiding from. I looked at Logan not knowing what to do. His face was blank. None of us saw this coming. And now, Adam had discovered us, here in his office. Well, shit.
