You'd think that having a vampire lead the way should be easy right? Wrong. Logan is too hard to follow. His long legs make for big steps, making it hard for me to keep up thanks to my average sized legs. And not to mention how he can dodge any branches in his way, leaving me with splinters I know are going to be really painful to get out.
When the next branch hit my face, I had had enough. I stop and stood there, ready to explode.
"Logan!" I yelled. He froze, clearly noticing my anger. Turning around very slowly and with caution, he had an innocent smile plastered on his face.
"Guess I kind of forgot about you." He tried to laugh it off, but I just glared.
"Want me to carry you there?" He asked. I never broke my glare at him.
"Just get over here, dummy." With that, he walked over and picked me up, jumping into the air and continuing the way to Blake.
"Hey Mariah, do you know what you want to say to Blake when you see him?" He tried to make conversation.
"I shouldn't have to say much, he's probably trying to figure out how to get her out anyways." Logan was quiet.
"You don't know?" He finally spoke.
"Don't know what?" I stuttered. He shook his head.
"You're about to find out. " He muttered and my heart skipped a beat. What was he talking about?
"We got to the river just in time as Blake was packing up his sketch book to leave. I didn't know Blake drew. The things you learn about someone.
"Blake!" I called to get his attention. He looked over at us, and plastered a totally fake smile. I rolled my eyes.
"Cut the crap, I know that smile isn't real." I said, when finally reaching him.
"That obvious huh?" He muttered. Something was wrong. This wasn't the same upbeat Blake that was the biggest flirt but had the kindest heart.
I walked over to him.
"Blake bear," I said our little nicknames we made for each other randomly one day. Mine was Moody Mariah. I didn't agree to it but Blake somehow convinced me. I don't understand how - wait a minute. That little snake used his stupid powers on me! Ass hole! Forget that, Mariah, Blake is upset.
"What's wrong?" I finished. He shook his head.
"Everything," Logan walked over, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Hey man, I know you still think Serena was the one who turn Mariah in-" I cut Logan off.
"Wait you think she what? Blake this is Serena we're talking about. Wait not something I should say that will help me here. Let me rephrase. Listen, I don't remember what happened exactly but I promise you Serena did not turn me in! You have to believe me you have to!" I was yelling and shaking him back and forth by his shoulders. Logan came over and removed my hand.
"Smooth, Mariah," He held back a laugh and I glared at him.
"Oh shut up, Loser Logan!" That was what me and Blake came up with for Logan. He glared back at me.
"Moody Mariah returns!" He spat out. I went in for a punch before Blake quickly grabbed my hand and pulled my towards him.
"Okay no violence please. And aren't you two here to harass me not each other?" Blake said, turning me to face him and fixing my now messed up hair.
"Much better," He muttered and released his grip on me. He went and sat down at the edge of the river. Turning to face Logan for a quick second, I went and sat beside Blake, resting my head on his shoulder.
