Harry's POV:
We walked through the park. It was really boring but I wanted to spend time with her. I was still amazed with her stunt earlier, I had never known anyone with the guts to do that.
I placed my hand on the small of her back but she moved away from it before shooting me a glare. I smiled back down at her. I towered over her, she was so delicate, yet tough.
"What colleges are you looking at?" I heard her sweet voice say.
I snapped back into it. "Oh uh, I don't know about college yet." I replied. It was a lie, I was looking at Yale and Stanford but I didn't want to tell her that. She would probably laugh.
Why did she make me care?
I never care about anyone or their opinion about me, except hers.
"Oh, that's cool too." She responded.
"Yeah, I-" I paused when I noticed her attention completely off the conversation. She walked away from me towards a group of young kids. I stayed where I was but watched her.
She went up to a small boy with pale skin and bright blue eyes. He had a few freckles and wore khakis and a blue sweatshirt that had a logo I couldn't read on it. Aspen took the little boy in her arms, he looked only about six. He hugged her back tight and smiled the entire duration. He said something to her and pointed to the rest of the kids, Aspen nodded and kissed the small child on his forehead.
She watched him as he walked away from her towards the group he was traveling with, when he was finally out of sight she turned back towards me and started walking.
"Who was that?" I asked her as she got closer.
"Ughh, my brother." She mumbled.
Aspen never spoke of her family, I didn't even know who they were. She lived alone, and never seemed like she had parents around.
"He lives in New Jersey, he was adopted." She finished. She stayed more quiet then usual.
"Oh." Was all I could say. I didn't know what to say exactly.
"We'll I better get going." She said. I wanted to beg her to stay. Her voice alone keeps me entertained.
"I'll walk you." I offer.
"No, it's fine." she said.
"I'll see you tonight?" I asked.
"Probably not." She responded.
"Yeah yeah. okay." Was all I could think of.
Why did she make me so nervous? I'm pretty sure my hands were sweating through my pockets.
"This was fun Aspen." I said before she turned away.
"Ehhhh." She said with a small smile, on her perfect lips. I wanted to grab her and make her stay but something held me back from doing it.
Aspen's POV:
I can't believe Nate was at the park. I didn't expect to see him, I knew he lived in Jersey but, I didn't think I would see him for another year. He was technically my half brother. He was my mom's son. He looked so grown up, I hadn't seen him in two years. I'm surprised he recognized me.
I snapped myself out of what just happened and went back to my apartment.
I sat on the mattress on my floor and thought of calling Belle, but I didn't. I just stared at the plain white ceiling, I didn't feel anything, I wasn't sad. I just felt there, until my phone buzzing took me out of my trance.
'I'll pick you up at 8' Read the text from the unknown number, suddenly the phone buzzed again.
'It's Harry.' Read the next one.
