I ride down past town and back to Belle's Grandmas

I get into the house and go upstairs into my room. Belle is laying on her bed on her phone.

"Hey," I say.

"Hi," she replies, not looking up from her phone.

"What's up?" I ask.

"Uh, I broke up with Dylan." She says.

"What? Why?"

"I haven't really felt anything for him in a while, so I just ended it." She says, not looking up from her phone, still.

"Belle.." I say.

"What?" she quickly replies, finally meeting my eyes.

"Well, if you wanna talk about it I'm here." I say in the least awkward way possible. She laughs and rolls her eyes.

"Someone called for you, an old lady, sounded crazy." She giggles.

"Oh?" I say, "that's random."

Belle just shrugs. I look through some clothes and try and find a dress to wear. I find a white dress that Belle ordered but hadn't worn yet. It was a tight low cut that flared at the waist, and it was pretty short. I found red heels to go with it. I curled my hair to kill time and chatted with Belle for an hour, it was finally six and Harry would be here any minute.

Harry's POV:

"Are you positive?" I ask.

He nods.

I hired an old family friend, Frank, to do some searching on Elle. And he did, a lot of searching, quickly too.

Elle is Aspen's mother.

Aspen has a mother and only I and her mother know that. I pay frank and he leaves. I check my watch and I'm 10 minutes late to pick up Aspen.

"Shit." I mumble to myself and get into my car. An additional 5 minutes from driving adds to the clock and I'm 15 minutes late. She comes out when I pull and I feel the oxygen leave my lungs. She has on a white dress, that hugs her body and looks... so hot. I think I might get hard just looking at her and I have to check to make sure I'm not packing a boner.

"Hi." I say.

"You're late." Is all she responds before getting in the car.

"I know, I'm sorry. You look-wow." Is all I say. She continues to glare but I can see a smile forming on her lips.

I put my hand on her bare thigh and she controls the radio, we both laugh at the stupid lyrics that people come up with. It's a 20 minute drive to the place I'm taking her but it goes by quickly.

"I like the suit." She says. "Didn't take you as a bow tie kind of guy."

"Yeah? Hmm."

She starts to tap her fingers on her leg. I love that she never paints her nails, the only color I've ever seen on her is black, and that's what I would expect.

I pull into a small white building with a patio in the front. It has dark leaves covering the building. I get out and open her door and interlock my fingers in hers. She follows behind me and I nod to the hostess and follow her to a table in the back right on the beach.

We take our seat and Aspen's eyes drift to the ocean, she looks fascinated by it and I'm fascinated by her. She catches me starring and looks away.

I order us drinks and food, she doesn't protest even though she wishes she could because I know exactly what she would've liked.

"So how your job?"

"What?" I reply.

"Your job.. don't you caddy or something?" She asks.

"Oh yeah, it's fine, how's yours? Have you seen Liam at all?" I ask.

"It's fine, yeah I see him a bunch." She says smirking a little.

"Mhmm.." I know she's testing me," and how is he? Is he wonderful?"

She laughs and nods. "He's amazing." She says, mocking my accent. I crack a smile and can't help but laugh along.

Then her phone rings, "What could Belle want?" she asks and then hits the ignore button.

"Hey Aspen.." I say, remembering what I have to tell her.

"Yeah?" She says, her big eyes looking at me.

"So in town today.. I ran into this-"

And her fucking phone rings again.

"One sec," She says answering.

"What's up?" She says.

"What?"

"Whose at the house?"

"A woman? What is she saying? Calm down Belle."

"She's my what?"

Shit, shit, shit.

"Okay.. uhh.. I'll be home soon." She says cursing under her breath.

"Aspen I have to tell you something."

"Can it wait? Apparently there's someone at the house saying she's my mom." She says.

"No Aspen it can't wait!" I say.

We get up from the table but now were standing and I'm inches from her.

"She is your mom, that's what I was going to tell you, I saw her earlier and I looked into it and-"

"You didn't tell me?!" She says yelling. "What the hell were you waiting for?"

"I was about to tell you!"

"What about earlier when I was at your house?!" She's still yelling and I pull her onto the beach away from the restaurant.

"I- I was going to be sure but I wanted to be sure first so-"

"It wasn't your place to decide if I knew or not Harry!"

"I know, I'm so sorry, I can explain it to you if you just get in the car and I'll take you back to Belle's." I say calmly. She still looks pissed but she nods and comes with me.

We get in the car and she crosses her arms.

"So?" She says.

"Okay.." And I tell her the story. She lived with her mom until she was three when her mom got arrested, then she went to live with her aunt and uncle. Her aunt had a kid and couldn't really take care of either of them. That's what Aspen remembers, she lived with her aunt and uncle, her uncle, not her dad was a horrible man.

"I know who your dad is too.. I say."

She looks at me, she looks so confused.

"He's uhh.. he's a professor at Columbia."

"What?"

"Yeah, his names Nicolas Hoult."

"Oh.." She says looking at her fingers.

"Hey Aspen it will be okay."

"Yeah." She says.

The rest of the ride is silent until we pull into the house.

She looks like she's going to be sick when we step out.

I grab her hand and look at her and make our way into the house.
