Chapter 11: a hard days work

Mabel's POV

the next day Robbie and i left to go see what we could help with, i got assigned to make sweaters being it was getting cold out soon and Robbie had to help build more housing for newcomers. "bye Robbie!" i said giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"bye Mabs I'll miss you!" he said as he hugged me, picking me up and twirling me around. i giggled "Robbie! we're gonna be late!" so he put me down and kissed me. i smiled against his lips and ended the kiss slowly.

"awww..." he said "don't worry Robbie I'll see you at the end of the day and we can kiss then." i said kissing him on the cheek "okay Mabs." Robbie said and hugged me. i hugged him back and we both left to go to our separate areas.

Robbie's POV

i was upset i had to leave Mabel to go build houses in the hot sun, i would much rather sit inside and cuddle with her all day but i guess if we are gonna live here, we need to earn our keep. i headed out to the construction sites and put on my hard hat, tool belt, and gloves. "Hey Robbie!" i heard a familiar voice say i looked and it was Lee! my best buddy since elementary school!

"Hey Lee!!" i said running over to him. we did a bro hug and decided to do some catching up "so Robbie, how are you and Tambry doing?" he asked with a big smile. i laughed and said "oh her? she cheated on me with Nate so I'm going out with Mabel now." i said.

"dude that sucks but isn't Mabel 3 years younger than you?" he asked patting my back. "yeah but age is just a number." i said coolly. "so how about you Lee? you got a special girl?"  i asked wiggling my eyebrows at him. he laughed and nodded "yeah bro her name is Mycala! (ma-Kay-luh) i met her while i was on the run, she was with her acting crew, she wants to be on Broadway one day." he said gushing about her.

"cool bro I'm glad you found some one!" i said happily. after we were done catching up we began to work on the houses. we got 1 finished and helped start construction on 2 others for the day.

Mabel's POV

when i went to the area where they made the clothing i saw two familiar figures, it was Grenda and Candy! i ran over to them "GRENDA!!! CANDY!!" they looked up and their eyes widened, they left their sewing and hugged me, i began to cry "oh my gosh guys i was so worried about you two! i didn't see you at the hospital with everyone else and i just thought.."

i kept babbling on while they hugged me. i looked up at them quickly and smiled "i almost forgot! I'm dating Robbie now!!!!" i said and we all squealed with joy "wait isn't he like 3 years older than you?" candy asked "That doesn't matter Candy! love is love!" Grenda said smiling.

Dipper's POV

when we were assigned jobs i was to work in the lab with the scientists and Pacifica was to be our assistant. "this is going to be so much fun being we didn't get separated!" Pacifica said excited "yeah!" i said happily holding her hand. we spent the rest of the day testing weapons and doing experiments on how to reverse the spider people's venom.

Robbie's POV

after a long day of hard work i laid down on the bed exhausted. i heard the front door open and shut quietly. "hi Mabs.." i said tiredly. "hi Robbie.." she said sounding just as tired. she walked in and i saw cuts all along her hands. i sat up quickly "Mabs! what happened to your hands?!" i said worriedly.

"sewing.." she said looking at the ground. i kissed her hands gently and picked her up. i carried her to the bed and laid her down gently. i laid down next to her and wrapped my arms around her.

"lets get some rest Mabs.." i said quietly to her as i held her tightly against me. she nodded and fell asleep against my chest. i stroked her hair gently as she slept. i whispered into her ear "i love you Mabs.."  and she smiled in her sleep. i smiled and feel asleep.
