Chapter 7: the rebellion

Robbie's POV

I saw Mabel later, walking down the hall covered in green ooze. i went to hug her but she put her hand out to stop me "sorry Robbie i cant hug you I'm covered in Spider people blood and i don't think you would want this on yo-" she began but i hugged her anyways, cutting her off.

she hugged me back "i lit the fires and they are moving back...Ford is sending people on food runs tomorrow and i-" she began "no Mabs." i said firmly "Robbie!" she whined "Mabel!" i whined back. i smiled at her and she gave me a look that was similar to a little kid not getting their way.

"awww don't be like that Mabs.. i missed you. come on lets go get this stuff off of you." i said smiling at her.  she looked down at herself and said "okay lets go" i laid on the bed while she took a shower. she came out a half an hour later and sat on the bed next to me.

she handed me a brush "um Robbie? could you help me brush my hair?" she said blushing. "yeah no problem Mabs" i said smiling at her. i brushed her hair gently, making sure to not pull any knots. i think Mabel was falling asleep as i brushed her hair because she would start to lean forward but snap back a little bit.

i finished brushing her hair and put a braid in it. i put the brush on a bed table and laid her back next to me. i laid my head on her chest and wrapped my arms around her. "i love you Mabs.." i whispered "i love you too Robbie.." she said sleepily. i watched her sleep for at least an hour before Pacifica came in to give me my medicine for my bite.

"here." she whispered as she tip toed to the bed. she handed it to me and a cup of water. "thanks" i whispered and took my  medicine. i began to feel sleepy as usual after taking my medicine and fell asleep as she left the room.

Mabel's POV

i woke up early again to help Grunkle Ford with the food run. i got ready quietly and slipped out of the room. i met them in the lobby again. we put more fuel on the fires to keep them burning and we had dug trenches to keep them from spreading and setting the hospital on fire.

we quickly ran out and made our way gradually to the grocery store, filling up a truck we found. we hot wired it and drove it back, probably hitting at least 6 or 7 spider people but we didn't care. we had people quickly come out and start unloading the food.

i slipped back into the room and cuddled up next to Robbie. it had to be at least 5 minutes later when his alarm on his phone went off. i groaned sleepily and rolled over. "morning Mabs..." i heard Robbie yawn sleepily. i rolled over to him, he must have seen bags under my eyes or something because his expression hardened.

"you went with them?" he said sounding hurt. "Robbie i had to! they needed me!" i said pouting. he sighed and pulled me into a hug "I'm sorry Mabs... I'm just afraid I'm gonna lose you.." he said, i could feel wet hot tears fall on my back.

"no Robbie..I'm sorry... you told me not to go but i didn't listen and went anyways..." i said beginning to cry myself. we sat there and held each other for a while before we both got hungry. "I'll be right back.." i whispered and left the room. i went to the cafeteria and grabbed some strawberries and put sugar and whipped cream on them.

the lunch ladies didn't care being I'm the one who helped get them. i went back to the room quickly and sat down again with him. "how did you get strawberries? i thought the lunch ladies were strict with the food!" he said as his eyes lit up like a little kids. "i helped with the food so they let me" i said smirking at him.

we sat there and watched kid shows and ate strawberries for a good while like we did the first time we got together. "i love you Robbie.." i said smiling at him. "I love you too Mabs.." he said and kissed my cheek, getting whipped cream on it. "whoops i lost something!" he said smiling and licking my cheek. "Robbie!" i said.
