I couldn't believe it. I'm about to marry Franky, the love of my life. Looking across from her I couldn't help but feel a hundred and one emotions. She began caressing the top of my hand with her thumb and I knew she was nervous. She didn't even want to have this big of a wedding, nor is she that big on being in front of people. The words of the priest went in one ear and out the other as I looked at my family in front of me: my big belly named Mateo and Franky, my wife in about 5 minutes.
Her eyes met mine and I was able to read her soul. She was sorry. She made a mistake while she was in a dark place. I know not many females would forgive her but I know how pure her heart is. And I know how devoted she is to me and our family. I can't imagine my life without her and I don't want to. Not in a million years.
"Can we have the rings?" Both Franky and I turn to our closest friend and receive each other's ring. "Azalea would you like to say your vowels at this moment?"
I fondled the ring in between my fingers and looked down at it. To think that this little circle symbolizes something so much more. "Francesca Angelica Minelli, you are my rock, my world, my angel sent from the Man upstairs. I'll keep it short and sweet. As most of you know I was abducted while in Afghanistan..." I didn't notice the slight tremble in my hands as those words escaped my lips. Franky grabbed my hand to give me strength. I look down at our hands then back to her eyes, "You are my strength. You were my every thought and with every breath I hoped I would be able to return to you. The moment I opened my eyes while lying in that hospital bed, I saw you and thought it were a dream. Because you are all that I ever wanted. Before I even knew it." I wiped at my right eye. "And not only do I have you but I carry our son and know we will be great mothers to him. I love you for all that you are and I will love you for all that you become." With every word I spoke her smile grew bigger. And I want to see that smile for the rest of my life.
