I strategically sat

In the back of the

Auditorium.

Away from the people,

With their prying eyes.

Their judging eyes.

Their hateful eyes.

And their noise.

Their deafening noise.

So many people, 

Trying to make a point.

Struggling for

A minute in the 

Limelight.

I try to drown the out.

Blaring music,

Through headphones. 

Until they are a 

Dull roar.

Until the catastrophic 

Boom.

And then the screams.
