Typically, celebrities don't go on dates with "nobodys." According to every breakup, it doesn't last because we usually have more money than our partner. Or the other just can't handle the fame.
I was pacing back and forth in my room now, trying to find something to wear. A crop top? No, too personal. A long coat? Too professional.
I was really bad at this outfit thing, which is pretty ironic considering I'm a model.
I decided to throw on a pink button up with some kind of wrap around it. It was February and it would be cold.
So when six o'clock came, of course I was busily trying not to sweat of all my makeup. I barely even put on any. No lipstick, just a mint Eos. No eyeliner but mascara. No eye shadow but I still had concealer.
The doorbell rang and I almost fell over myself to open the door for him.
"Hey," Jay smiled. "Nice place," he said, nodding to himself.
"Thanks," I replied, stepping outside of my door and locking it. "So, dinner?" I prompted. "Yeah." He said and we walked down to the elevator.
"So are you going to be the next Chief Executive Officer of your family's company?" I inquired. "I guess. I was pretty much born with it, so why not take it?" He shrugged.
"Makes sense." I mused, thinking of anything else that might make sense. "Do you have any brothers?" I asked.
I was the only child. I'd like to hear from someone who had siblings. Too often they complained and I wanted to see if Jason Foley was different.
"Yeah, Hunter. He's the one who gets to name all the products. Apparently, I have no imagination." He grinned at me sideways as the elevator doors dinged and we stepped out.
We walked wordlessly to his sleek, black car. Almost stereotypical, but not quite.
"So how was Calgary?" I asked. I've never been to Calgary, only Ontario to shoot an ad that required a backdrop of the great Niagra Falls.
"Fun. I went to Silverstar." He replied, backing out of his parking spot.
"Silverstar?" I asked, trying to think of any ski or snowboard place like that. I wasn't one for skiing or snowboarding, but I'd like to know what it was.
"Yeah, I go there to snowboard. It's strange, 'cause ski lodges have snowboarders too, you know? I was also testing out a few new products, seeing if I liked it." He answered. We paused in front of the red light.
"Did you? Why don't you ski?" I asked.
"Skiing's not really my thing. It's more of Hunter's." He shrugged and a shadow crossed over his face. "Here's the restaurant. My favorite place." He grinned at me and got out, opening the door for me.
"Oh thanks, but it's-" Right before I was about to warn him, a flash of cameras blinded me.
"Skyler! Is that your new boyfriend?" Shouted one of them.
"Skyler! What happened to Zack?"
"Skyler! Is it true you slept with your teachers?"
"Skyler!"
Skyler, Skyler, Skyler, Skyler. I was beginning to hate my name.
"Oh my god! Skyler Chase!" A girl came screaming, running full speed at me. If I was lacking experience in this apartment, I'd be cringing of physical contact. But instead, I hugged her back and signed her face before waving them away.
