I'll Love You Forever DDM

Age 1+

(OK i got this from a story from my favorite kids book ever! Credit to original author!)

A man sat in a rocking chair with his newborn baby girl, rocking her very slowly, back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, and as he rocked her, he sang, "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be."

A few years passed, and the little baby grew and grew, and grew until she was 3 years old. She was playing in the toilet, ripping up her daddy's papers, and even threw her daddy's phone in the bathtub! Her daddy felt like he was a zoo! But late at night, when the little girl was fast asleep, the man would crawl up the stairs, and into her room. If the little girl was truly asleep, her daddy would pick her up, and slowly rock her back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, and he would sing the same song, "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be."

Some more years passed, and the little girl grew and grew, and grew until she was a beautiful teenager of 14 years. She threw her clothes and shoes all over the place, didn't clean up her messes, and even said bad words in front of Grandma! Her dad felt like he was living in a zoo! But late at night, when the teenager was asleep, he would crawl up the stairs and into her room, and if she was truly asleep, he would pick that big girl up, and slowly rock her back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, and while he rocked her he sang, "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be."

The teenager grew and grew, and grew until she was a big adult of about 22, moving out on her own. She had her own car, and house, and even a boyfriend! The dad was glad his house was no longer a zoo, but he missed his baby girl. So late at night, the dad would get in his truck and drive across town to the girl's new house. He would crawl in the window  and crawl across the floor to the side of the bed, and if the girl was really asleep, he would pick that great big girl up in his arms, and gently rock her back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, and while he rocked her he sang, "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be."

A few months later, the girl was making dinner, when she got a phone call from her dad. "Come see me, my baby girl. I am very weak and sick, and I fear I won't make it very long." So the girl got in her car and drove to the nursing home, and walked to her dad's room. When she walked in, she sat down on her dad's bed. When she did this, he grabbed her hand and started to sing, "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for......." But he was too weak to continue. The girl started to cry, and hugged the frail old man, while she sang, "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living, my daddy you'll be." And she cried as her dad took his last breath.

A few years later, the girl and her husband stood over their baby boy's crib. The mommy picked up her baby, and slowly rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, and while she rocked him, she sang," I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be."
