Baby Shower Planning

Nicole's POV:

While I was trying to sleep in the middle of the night, I just remembered that I had a very important task to do....Plan Chelsea's baby shower. She is due in three months and I have not even started thinking about it yet. I am going to see if I can get Chaunette and Elina to help me plan this baby shower with out with out Chelsea knowing about it. I'll text them in the morning so I don't wake them up. I rolled over and looked on the clock on my phone and it read 12:13 am. I grab my phone and start quietly scrolling through Pinterest for ideas. I feel Artemi rollover and start to stir in the bed next to me. He sits up in bed and starts talking to me.

"Baby, what you doing at 12:30 in fucking morning?" Artemi mumbles with his thick Russian accent.

"Well, I realized that I have to start planning Chelsea's baby shower because she's due to give birth in three months and I have not even thought about it yet. So I am on Pinterest looking for ideas for this shindig." I say and Artemi rolls his eyes at me. Artemi here is kinda bitchy when he does not get his beauty rest.

"Can that wait till the morning? I got practice at eleven today and need to get some sleep tonight." Artemi mumbles

"Fine, princess, I'll go into the living room and search so you can get your beauty rest." I say as I grab phone and walk into the living room.

"Whatever." Artemi mumbles and as I go to shut the bedroom door, I hear Artemi snoring loudly. I sit on our couch and cuddle up with the Chicago Blackhawks blanket on the back of the couch. I scroll for about an hour than pass back out on the couch. I have a quiet peaceful sleep until I am awaken. I look up and see Artemi is holding a Caramel Frappucino with whip and a Chocolate Chip muffin from Starbucks.

"Sorry baby for snapping at you. Here's your favorite from Starbucks. Forgive Me?" Artemi says and gives me the lip which, makes it hard for me to be annoyed with him.

"It is ok Artemi." I say as I take a sip of my Caramel Frappucino.

"Ok babe. I leave for practice now. See you in little bit." Artemi says as he kisses me on the cheek. He grabs his gear and heads out the door. I get my phone and start to text Chaunette and Elina.

C & E- Hey what are you guys doing today?

C-Andrew and I are going on a date tonight but that is at 7:00 pm. Why? What's Up?

E-Nothing. What do you want to do?

C&E- Can you guys meet me at the Starbucks on Whacker at 12:00 pm so we can do some planning for Chelsea's baby shower? I want to plan this shower without her knowing it, I want to keep it a surprise. I need your guys help planning this...

E-I'm in 100 percent. I can get our nanny to watch Theo for a few hours so we can plan in peace. I'll see you at noon. Bye girl

C-Hell yeah! I'll see you then! Can't wait....This baby shower will be amazing.

I finished texting Elina and Chaunette the plans and then I decide to freshen up by taking a quick shower. I hop out of the shower and put on a pair of light denim skinny jeans, a white and red marbled cable knit sweater, and a pair of white vans. I curl my hair and put it up into a high ponytail. I put on some natural makeup and a swipe of red lipstick. I grab my white leather Ralph Lauren cross body purse from mine and Artemi's closet, a notebook and pen, my iPhone and keys and I rush out the door to my car. I sped off and in around twenty minutes I made it to Starbucks. I notice that I am the first one here and I decide to order my second Caramel Frappucino of the day and a crossaint and take a seat at booth near the middle of the café. I start scrolling through more baby shower ideas on Pinterest until the girls show up. A few minutes I hear the door to Starbucks open and I see Chaunette walk in. I wave to her and she comes over to the booth and gives me a hug,

"Hey girl how have you been?" Chaunette says with a big smile

"Pretty good. How have you been?" I say sitting back down in the booth.

"Pretty good myself. Do you want to start planning now or wait till Elina gets here?" Chaunette asks as she sips her French Vanilla Latte.

"I say we wait so she can know all the details of planning this baby shower." I say and Chaunette nods too. We talk for about ten minutes about the ups and downs of being hockey WAGS until Elina shows up and sits down in the booth.

"I'm so sorry for ruining late. Theo was having a tantrum because he wanted to come help plan Chelsea's baby shower and not wanting to stay with his nanny." She says apologetically.

"Elina it is fine. I totally understand." I say and give her a small smile.

"Shall we get started. I woke up at 12 am this morning and remembered that I had to plan Chelsea's shower. I woke up Artemi in the process and he wasn't too happy. I had a couple idea's for a theme." I say opening my notebook up so I can take some quick notes.

"What do you have so far?" Chaunette asks.

"Since Chelsea is having fraternal twins, a boy and girl, I thought it would be a smart idea to do a gender neutral baby shower. What do you guys think?" I ask

"That's a really good idea. Did you see any themes that would be cool to do?" Elina asks as she eats her bagel.

"I think it would be kind of cool to do a circus theme or a zoo theme. What theme would you guys prefer?" I ask hoping they would agree on the same theme idea so it would be easier to pick a theme.

"The circus theme would be a really cool and unique. I really like it. That's my vote for the theme." Chaunette says with a smile.

"The circus is my definite pick for the shower." Elina says

"I guess we are going to go with the Circus theme. This will be so...." I get cut off by phone that starts ringing off the hook. I pick it up and it is Patrick on the other line.

"Hey Patrick what's up?" I say

"Nicole, you need to get to the hospital right now." Patrick says in a hurried tone.

"Why what's wrong Patrick?" I ask while I start feeling anxious. What the hell is going on here?

"It's Artemi. He got injured today during practice. He accidently went headfirst into the boards. Currently, it is unknown the extent of his injuries. The team is supposed to find out in a little bit. You should get down here soon." Patrick says while sounding on the verge of tears. I feel tears coming down my face. I need to get the hell out of here.

"Nicole, baby what is wrong?" Elina says while she and Chaunette engulf me in a hug.

"It's Artemi, he went into the boards head first at practice and he is at the hospital. I need to go be with him and stay by his side." I say trying to wipe the tears that are streaming down my face.

"I'm so sorry. You need to go to that hospital. We can finish planning the baby shower another day. Stay strong baby girl. We love you." Chaunette says. I rush out of Starbucks like a bat out of hell and hop into my car. I speed off going way over the speed limit and was praying the whole time while on the way to the hospital.

Just be ok please Artemi...
