Mr. Blackbourne left the bar in downtown Charleston in a daze. As he got in his car he was thinking of all the reasons this could indeed go belly flop. When it came to Sang, he felt unprepared and going on a whim as to what felt right at the time. What if things went from complicated to worse? What if Sang started to withdraw herself and flee from the situation? He knew his boys were in neck deep but what about Sang? How long more till she cracked, either ran away from them or wanted nothing to do with this anymore.
Mr. Blackbourne started driving with only half a glance to the outside world. His eyebrows came down in a frown as he considered all the consequences. If he had to be honest, he was as invested in this relationship with Sang as his boys were. He had as much to lose. He might not have even admitted to himself, but Sang meant more to him than anyone else did, only rivaling his own mother.
What if he went about this in a wrong manner? What if this will cause more problems than it solved? All Mr. Blackbourne was thinking about when he made this decision was Sang and her comfort. He hoped that this would buy them more time.
As Mr. Blackbourne made the turn into his neighborhood, he spied the usual brown car following at a distance. Mr. Blackbourne sighed thinking 'the man just won't give up'. Mr. Blackbourne fiddled around with his phone for a short while and then took a casual turn onto another street. When he came to a bit of traffic on the main street, he slowed to a crawl behind another car making sure that the brown car was a few cars behind and couldn't get a clear view as to what Mr. Blackbourne will be doing. He waited for the right moment. When he saw his decoy coming in from the side street, he quickly turned onto the street and the similar silver BMW took its place. Mr. Blackbourne smirked to himself; it pays to have friends in high places.
