A/N- It's short but I thought it would an insight into how Luke is feeling. And Mr. Blackbourne is my favourite character :-P

When Sang and Mr. Blackbourne exited the room, Luke was found lingering outside with his hands behind his back and his head slightly bent down. Sang gave him a questioning glance but knew not to say anything. This was Luke's time to talk to Mr. Blackbourne, the team's shrink. Sang left without a word and Mr. Blackbourne and Luke watched her go. Without taking his eyes of her retreating form, Luke asked, "How is she?"
"She is better, the way Sang deals with trauma of any sort is to throw herself into keeping busy."
"But that's not healthy, is it? To keep things bottled up?"
"Being with us helps Ms. Sorenson more than anything else will. She is getting better at communicating her feelings though. She just needs some time and patience."
"Now, Mr. Taylor. I think you'd better come inside."
Mr. Blackbourne turned back into Sang's room with Luke following. Luke tried to make a joke to ease the tension, "I guess this will be the resident therapist's room."
Mr. Blackbourne looked back at Luke with eyebrows raised. Luke cleared his throat and closed his mouth back up.
They both took a seat at the same table that Sang and Mr. Blackbourne had recently vacated.
"I just want to say..." Mr. Blackbourne cut Luke of before he could continue.
"Take a moment, Mr. Taylor. Think about what you want to say. This is not an interrogation. You wanted to talk to me in private and this is what we are doing."
Luke took a deep breath. He's done this before, had private conversations with Mr. Blackbourne. They all have. That was the best thing about having Mr. Blackbourne as the team leader. He's always ready to drop everything when his family needs him.
"Honestly, I know my impulsive nature gets me in trouble, but at that moment, seeing the distress on Sang's face over her dog, the only thing running through my head was going in. For her."
Luke paused to see Mr. Blackbourne's reaction. Mr. Blackbourne nodded, "Mr. Taylor, you don't have to explain this to me. I certainly know how persuasive Ms. Sorenson can be, especially when it is directed at you boys."
Luke started again, feeling more confident, "Everything went according to plan until we were out and that man, Dr. Reed came up behind Sang. As soon as I saw the car speed away, with Sang in it, I really felt fear...fear and guilt. It was all my fault she got kidnapped."
Mr. Blackbourne pitched himself forward with his palms splayed on the little table between them, "Mr. Taylor, we were there as well, Mr. Lee and myself. We were equally to blame for taking our eyes of Ms. Sorenson. You shouldn't have to feel like you have to take all the responsibility."
Luke placed his head in his hands, "I know but I'm the one who took her on this stupid mission and put her in a dangerous situation."
"And who asked you to go on this mission?"
"But you never asked us to follow the truck or to go into the warehouse."
Mr. Blackbourne didn't say anything for a while, he looked out the windows and contemplated the situation. He turned back to Luke and gave him a piercing look, "Mr. Taylor, do you know why you are a part of the Academy, or why any of us are? Because we are quick to think on our feet and we go out of the way to help people or to solve a situation. What you did with Ms. Sorenson might have been a high risk but if you hadn't taken the extra step, that dog, Shep will not have survived and safe downstairs. And for that, Sang would do it a hundred times over and so would you given the chance."
"But Kota..."
"Mr. Lee functions in a different way, we all do. If Mr. Lee were in the same situation as you were, things would have gone differently. It might have worked, it might have not. But it wasn't Mr. Lee who was there at that time, it was you. And you did what you thought best. Never underestimate your intuitions or impulses, Mr. Taylor; they could mean life or death."
"Now, if you really want to do something, go and spend the day with Ms. Sorenson. Help her with the dog. I think she'll need all the help she can get with Shep."
Luke bowed his head gratefully and stood up from his chair. He said, "Thank you. I...this means a lot to me."
"It was my pleasure, Mr. Taylor. Family comes first."
Luke strode towards the door and left to go look for Sang.
