Back at the scene of the crime the police were still scouring the house and Mr. Blackbourne, Kota and Luke stood on the pavement staring after the disappearing black car.
"Shit! Who was at the wheel?" Shouted Luke in a panic.
Mr. Blackbourne immediately took out his phone and turned on the tracking for Sang's phone. Without taking his eyes off the phone he started calling orders, "Mr. Lee, call North, tell him to start tracking her and follow her. Staying at a distance. Mr. Taylor, you will stay here with the police."
A police officer walked up to the trio and asked, "Who was in that car? Was it someone you know? We are rounding up everyone from inside and we seemed to be missing one of the workers."
Mr. Blackbourne's head whipped up and he asked harshly, "Who is it?"
"We think it's one of the doctors. A Dr. Reed. It might have been him in that car. Do you know who was with him?"
Mr. Blackbourne ignored him as he busied himself with the phone still. Luke turned to the officer and said, "Yes, we know who is with him. A young girl."
The officer nodded but didn't seem too concerned. "We'll alert our forces. They will keep a lookout for the vehicle." The officer walked away to talk to his colleagues.
Mr. Blackbourne finally looked up from his phone and barked at Kota, "Mr. Lee, you are with me." They both hurried to Mr. Blackbourne's car and raced away into the night leaving Luke behind to deal with the police.
In Mr. Blackbourne's car, they both had grim determination written on their face. Kota spoke up, "did you suspect anything with Sang?"
"Yes," answered Mr. Blackbourne, looking straight ahead, "one look at her face and I could tell something was off. She looked guilty and scared, like she does when she is hiding something. At first I thought that she was guilty at having gone inside the house in the first place but my suspicions were confirmed when she said that she wanted to be alone. I know Miss Sorenson. She would never want to alone intentionally, away from any of you."
"I thought so too," said Kota.
"I didn't want to draw any attention to Miss Sorenson and her behavior, especially if she was in any potentially dangerous situation. I had my phone out and could see a man getting into the car behind us through the reflection. He was holding a gun and it would have gotten messy if we had interfered."
"How do we intercept them?" Asked Kota.
"I am having North follow them at a safe distance. The best way is to cut them off without this Mr. Reed noticing, if it is indeed him in the car with Miss Sorenson. Mr. Taylor said that the car might have another 20 miles of gas left in it; they will have to stop at a gas station. We will cut them off then."
"We need to distract him somehow." Kota contemplated for a while.
"Let's worry about that when we get to that step."
