Chapter 5 - Cheshire

Natsu Pov
I couldn't stop staring at the girl next to me. Do I? Naaa I couldn't; she's just an annoying girl with a pretty smile. Yeah, that's it, she just has a pretty smile...and pretty hair...and laugh...and eyes...and she's really cute... BUT I DON'T LIKE HER! I barely even know her! She's probably really annoying, yeah that's it she IS really annoying but when she yells her face gets red and adorable... GAA STOP IT *mentally slaps self*

"Natsu!... Natsu!... NATSU!!!"
"Huh? Oh what?" I replied awakening from my self-argumentative state, only to find an angry Lucy staring right at me... I could feel my face getting hot and looked away from her.

"Well you see as we were walking down this path I came to a fork in the road. Considering how you seem to know what's going on, I ASSUMED that you would know which way to go!" She answered, with a combination of annoyance and sarcasm.

"Oh, well, um" I replied continuing to feel my face getting even hotter.

Lucy's Pov
I could see Natsu's face turning red. Whatever, he's annoying and should have been paying attention.

"Don't know where to go?" A wavering voice asked.

"What was that?" I looked around.

"Not what, but who" The mysterious voice replied. I kept looking around trying to find the source of the voice. Natsu tapped me on the shoulder and pointed up at the branch of a tree. No more than a second later, I heard someone start giggling. Then, a wide smile appear where Natsu was pointing. I jumped back, tripped over a tree root that definitely was not there before and hurdled to my doom (or more likely a concussion). Just as I was about to hit the ground, a hand grabbed mine and yanked me up. I felt an arm wrap around my waist. Opening my eyes, only to find Natsu staring at me.

Chill, it was only Happy" He replied, then letting go of me to hold his stomach from how much he was now laughing. I looked back over to the tree branch to see a blue cat emerse from behind the smile, who infact, was also laughing!

"Baka..." I mumbled under my breath. I felt my face get hot from embarrassment.

Natsu Pov
Her face is getting red again!!! Aww she's so kawaii! No. Focus, quickly, change the subject!

"So, uh, I was thinking we could go to the Mad Tea Party... that is if you want to... We don't have to though... that is if you want to...we don't have to though..." Arggg this is getting awkward!! I put my hand on the back of my head and laughed to break the tension that was building in my head.

"Yeah, alright, sure! But why is it called the Mad Tea Party?" She replied with an odd smile.

"You're friend is not too bright Natsu" Happy whispered to me.

"I heard that!" Lucy yelled.

"Uh, haha?" I tried to make it sound natural but based on her sideways glance, I doubt it worked.

"Whatever, let's go" Lucy said annoyed, crossing her arms.
