Natsu's Pov

The carriage never stopped. Maybe they will just pass us. But I knew in the back of my mind that they never let that happen.

The carriage, hurdling towards us, I unintentionally grabbed Lucy's hand and squeezed it.

"Natsu..." Lucy asked slowly; I could feel her getting nervous "what's going on?" Her words shake and she feels unsteady. I pulled her hand back with the idea of protecting her, for some reason was currently my dominant thought. But when she stepped back, from the moment, she tripped over her own foot and crashed. Her back hitting the wall. A tear formed in her eye. My impulse caused me to then grab her other hand and pull her in for a hug, and gently tap my forehead to hers.

"Lucy, I got tell you something" What am I saying? My heart and head were pounding "I" I paused trying to find the words, then with a newfound confidence I restarted "Lucy I-" but was intruded by a cackle that was growing louder

"I'm coming for youuuuu!!" The voice called. It was traveling at an incredible speed, and I saw a hand poke out the window of the carriage.

"Lucy" I tried once more "I" that's when the carriage flew by, and the hand that was poking out the window grabbed Lucy and pulled her through. (Lots of screaming and cackling were involved in this process) I sighed, I knew it. This happened before and it was bound to happen again. Nevertheless,

Lucy, I think I'm in love with you.

Lucy's POV

My face grew hot but I quickly forgot the possible confession because I had but been yanked into a carriage that never stopped. It was probably something else anyway. I pressed my face against the now closed window, trying to catch a last glimpse of Natsu.

After a mini freak out about the window and speed and somehow managed to calm down. The who sat in front of me was a girl with blonde hair. When she noticed me looking at her she turned from the other window she was staring out of and faced me.

"Lucy is it?"

"What?" Her voice surprised me, and these were not the first words I had predicted her to say

"Your name is Lucy, right?" She says this with maybe just a bit too much enthusiasm.

"Well, yes... But who are you?"

"Well my pretty" this reply was in a completely different voice from the first one that she had used previously, it was extremely creepy and kind of manicial "The Queen has demanded your presence in court" it shocked me and my stutter came back

"W-wait j-just a min-minute, the Queen? I didn't even know that there was a Queen! Why does she want me? Why court? What did I do? Where is court anyway?" My brain was running a million miles a minute. I had so many questions, I've never gotten in trouble before! Then the girl intrupeted my thoughts

"Let's play a game!" She changed the subject again

"Uh, what kind?"

"It's called the game of truth, the game is played by the two players saying things that apply to the other person, but you cannot say something that also applies to you. For example, you can't say that I have eyes, because you yourself have eyes as well." The girl explains

"Do you think we could do a practice round?" I ask not wanting to lose, but also wanting the fully understand the game first.

"Sure, you start" She says

"Uh, you are about 13 years old?"

"Technically, yes. Are you ready for the real thing?"

"Yeah, I think I am. You can start" With that Mavis put her hands together and mumbled ancient words. She registered my confusion and explained

"It's a magic barrier that keeps you from lying"

"You are being summoned by the queen" I don't know why but this set me off a bit.

"You pulled me through the window of a moving carriage" My response had a tad more attitude then I had intended. This comment seemed to make her a bit angry too and she spit back at me

"You lost your white rabbit" With her tone of voice, my brain told me to be angry by this comment, and believe me, I was.

"You have an imaginary friend named Zera!" I yelled back. Mavis's eyes widened.

Mavis POV

There was no way. Zera has been here the whole time? She's always been with me. Ever since that day...

I felt tears welling in my eyes.

"Zera?" there was no answer. where did she go? She was just here.

A tear slid down my face.

I turned to see for myself. She had to be there. And she was.

Glowing, and slowly disappearing, but there nonetheless.

"Mavis, I'm sorry I didn't tell you" Zera wrapped her arms around me "But this is for the better"

More tears ran down my face. As they did slowly with every drop that slid down my face, Zera became more transparent, more gone. Then she turned into sparkles and drifted up into the sky.

Lucy's Pov

I felt bad for saying that to her, I didn't know, I reasoned with myself, I wouldn't have done it if I had known. "Ma-" but I got cut off before I could say anything. For a man fully dressed in dark clothing in 1 zillion degree heat showed up out of nowhere; stopping the carriage and picking Mavis up in his arms bridal style. A surprisingly soft gentle voice introduced

"Zeref" and stuck his hand out

"Lucy" I replied, shook his hand, and then he readjusted his posture

"The game of Truth" He asked. How'd he know? He sighed looked down at Mavis who was crying into his chest.

"Zera?" I nodded again. His eyes showed disappointment and sorrow bundled up into a deep mysterious pain hidden, and with that he left taking Mavis with her.

--------------

I opened the little window thing that allows you to talk to the driver, but no one was there. I popped my head out of the overhead window to look for the drive, but no one was around. Even Mavis and Zefef were gone. I got out of the carriage and realized that the entire scenery had changed; there was now an open grass field with flowers were there had previously been dust. Stepping down I heard a click under my foot, only to find a very out of place, yellow brick road.
