Chapter 3- Stressed

**Reid's Point of View**

----On the jet----

Everybody seems so on edge. JJ and Hotch especially.

Something besides Alex leaving must be going on with JJ. She keeps on fiddling with her wedding ring and glancing at her phone every two seconds. I have only seen her like this when something was really wrong with Will or Henry. I should probably talk to her.

Across the aisle, Hotch just stares off out the window. My guess was that he was still shocked about Alex leaving. After Emily leaving, no one thought that we would have to say goodbye to someone else. Well, except Seaver, but it didn’t really affect the team to much.

A sudden ding broke my train of thought and I glance down to the computer to see Garcia.

"Hey baby girl" Morgan said.

I will never truly understand the bases of their strange relationship.

"Hello people of Earth. I did some digging into the lives of the parents of Jamie. Mary, worked as a secretary for a law firm. Jamie lived with her. She made good money, had a nice car and lived in a nice house in a nice neighborhood, to which the address I am sending you as we speak."

"You are amazing." Morgan says as if on cue.

"I know I am" Garcia replies happily.

"Now onto the daddy. Polar opposite man. Saw his kid every other Saturday for three hours. He lived on and off mediocre to low paid jobs. And was just laid off his last two weeks ago."

"If he wasn't lying in a pile of dirt, he would be a pretty good suspect." Rossi says.

I did not think that we should rule this out. He could have killed Mary in a rage and then taken his son. It seems sort of suspicious that they went in completely different directions after they divorced.  I wasn't sure yet so I kept my mouth shut.

Then Hotch, despite the fact that I thought he was still of in his own world, starts giving out directions like it was any normal day. Or as normal as this job gets.

I volunteer myself and JJ to go to Mary's house. I know something is up with JJ and want to talk to her, especially if it concerns Henry. Luckily, nobody else seems to notice me doing this, or that anything is wrong with JJ.

Hotch is going to speak with the head detective and Rossi and Morgan are going to the dump sites. It is definitely weird being team of five and not six.
