**Hotch's Point of View**
"Okay so our unsub took Jamie from soccer practice." I said to the assembled team and head detective, Detective Bruns.
"Wait, un-what?" Detective Bruns asked confused.
"Unsub, unknown subject." Dave put in.
"Oh okay go on." The detective said.
"Well Mary was supposedly meeting someone by the first name of Mark. Morgan call Garcia and get her to cross reference any known child offenders in the area by the first name Mark or Marcus as well the name and home address of Jamie's soccer coach. And we believe that there is a group of unsubs, but we do not suspect a pack mentality."
"Why not?" Burns asked.
"Because although it seems like there are multiple people, the killing was done by on individual, most likely the same on each victim. This indicates one unsub is most likely in charge and is probably the one that has the connection to the family." I got nods from people around me.
I continued.
"JJ and Rossi go to the soccer coach and if necessary do a cognitive interview. We need all the information we can get. He has been missing 5 and half hours already." I instructed looking at them to make sure they understood. Rossi nodded, so did JJ, but she looked almost distracted. Odd, I thought.
"Reid I want you and Morgan to go to the father's apartment and see what you can find. Blake go to-"
At the mention of her name, the five of them looked up at me.
"Sorry um... Reid go to the apartment by yourself and Morgan go to the boy's school find anyone who would be close to the family, especially the mother and son. Anybody who might seem like a threat to them."
After I finished giving instructions, I decided that I would hold a press conference to announce the amber alert.
"We will hold a press conference in an hour. Call if you find anything."
**Rossi's Point of View**
It was weird to be driving in such a silence with JJ. Normally she was talkative. I notice her glace at her phone multiple times.
"Is everything alright with you? You've been acting sort of... strange," I ask her.
"Yeah, um just tired." She says. He eyes glance yet again to her phone.
"You know hiding something from profilers isn't a very good idea."
"It nothing," she reassures, "I'll explain after the case."
Fair enough, I think.
We pull up to the house.
"So the soccer coach's kid is on the team, a year older than Jamie, same school."
"Let's see what we find out. The amber alert is going to out in fifteen minutes or so, he might not even know that Jamie is missing." JJ says. It seems she still has her head in work. Good.
We went up to the door and knocked. A woman who looked around thirty five answered the door.
"Hello ma'am, I'm SSA Jennifer Jereau and this SSA David Rossi. We are here with the FBI. Is there a Joshua Levy here?"
"FBI!? What are you doing here? Why do you want to speak to my husband?"
"It is nothing to worry about. We believe that he may have witnessed a kidnapping while coaching the soccer team today."
"A kidnapping! Who?" She said astounded. It wasn't everyday
"A boy named Jamie Macintyre. Ms. Levy, this is a very important matter and we really need to speak to your husband as soon as possible," JJ answered calmly
"Yes, of course he is right inside," the woman said, motioning for us to come inside.
"Thanks."
The wife led us behind the kitchen to a study, presumably Joshua Levy's.
"Hello Mr. Levy, this is SSA Jennifer Jereau and I'm SSA David Rossi with the FBI," I started, "we have some questions for you about a boy named Jamie McIntyre."
"Jamie, what about him, good kid." The man replied.
"Well he was kidnapped this morning and his mother was murdered. Anything stand out to you about this morning?" JJ started. The man sank down back into his chair in shock.
"Marcus." He said quietly.
"Sorry?" I said not comprehending.
"Marcus," Joshua said a little bit louder. "He picked up Jamie from soccer practice this mornin'. Said his mom was sick and asked him to pick Jamie up. He seemed pretty normal and everythin' now that I think about it."
"Had he picked up Jamie before today?" JJ asked concerned.
"Uhh no he hasn't. Showed me a text from Mary though. Didn't question it at all. God dammit. I could've stopped him." He looked of the verge of tears.
"There was nothing you could of done then, although there is something you could do now that would help." I said as I pulled a chair and took a seat the the desk on the opposite side of Mr. Levy. In the corner of my eye I saw JJ do the same.
"We are going to do what is called a cognitive interview, if you agree of course." JJ explained, "it doesn't only focus on your sight, but using other scenes to help remember details that you may have forgotten or missed."
"Yeah, anything I can do," Joshua said solemnly.
I started the interview.
"Close your eyes. You're on the field coaching the boys. How are they playing?" I asked
"Good, well as good as a group of six and seven year olds can." He said with a small and sad laugh.
"Do you notice anything out of the ordinary?" JJ questions.
"No, wait well I did have a feeling someone was watching from the woods. Thought it was just a parent or someone, but found it kinda weird that that they were in the wood. I shook the feeling off. Could that off been the man who took Jamie?" He said suddenly concerned.
"It is possible." JJ replied calmly.
"Let's go back to drop off. What was Mary McIntyre's behavior like when she dropped Jamie off? Was she calm, strangely... excited or looking over her shoulder? As well did you notice anyone there you didn't recognize?"
"She seemed a little on edge, but later I assumed it was because she wasn't feeling all to great. And no, I recognized everyone there."
"Let's go forward to pick up. What time is it?"
"Practice ends at 7:50am so that the boys can get to school. They all go to the same school so sometimes we end up going till 8ish."
"Okay so Marcus comes and picks up Jamie. Was he on time? You said he seemed calm. How did Jamie react to seeing Marcus?"
"A bit surprised, but as I said he showed us both the text from Mary and..."
"Do you remember the make or model or color of the car?"
"Yeah it was a dark blue mini-van. Toyota. I couldn't see the license plate"
"That's enough for now. Would you be able to come down to the police station so that you can meet with a sketch artist?"
"Uhh yeah." He leaned closer in, "My family isn't in any danger are they?"
"We have no reason at all to believe that they are. This man planned out a way to take Jamie peacefully, instead of using violence, so it seems like he is only interested in this particular family." JJ reassured.
"We will send an officer to escort you to the station in around 20 minutes so you can explain to your wife."
"Thank you for your time." JJ said as we got up to leave.
