Chapter 8- The Return

**Hotch's Point of View**

Well that was unusual, why would Reid and JJ walk out. As soon as I finished giving instructions, I went outside to see where they had gone. And I overheard their conversation.

"The doctor wants to meet with us, he hasn't even told Will anything." JJ said to Reid.

Doctor? I thought to myself. It must be something wrong with Henry, JJ has been acting strangly lately.

"JJ, it will be okay." Reid said trying to comfort her. She was crying into his shoulder.

I looked at my watch. We were not leaving for another five minutes because Rossi and Morgan were still briefing the local police, so stepped forward.

"JJ," I said, "what is going on?"

"Aaron," she says slightly surprised. "Umm it's Henry, he has been really sick so Will and I took him to the ER the other day and they ran some tests. The doctor has the results and says it's important that we are there in person. I'm really sorry, I know I have a job to do here, but I have to go." She says almost desperately.

"JJ, it's okay, of course... Take the jet." I can see her surprise when I offer the jet. But I know that it would take a lot more time if she has to get a plane ticket and everything.

"Thanks, sir." JJ says.

"And JJ, call and let us know what happens." I said. I couldn't even grasp the idea of what I would do had I been in her shoes with Jack.

"I will," she said nodding. "I already promised Spence that. Do me a favor though."

"Anything"

"Catch that son of a bitch." She said harshly.

"We will," I said, but I knew she knew we would get him.

JJ turned around to leave as Morgan and Dave come out, they must have finished briefing the detective and local officers.

"Where is she going?" Morgan asked, confused.

"Family emergency." I reply, not really wanting to go into detail about everything.

As we geared up for the raid, Reid looked pale, but then again why shouldn't he, Henry is his godson.

What a great day, I think to myself as we get into the SUV's.

**JJ's Point of View"

Thank god Hotch let me take the jet. It is so much faster. I really just want to get home to Henry. Sometimes this job is too much. I hate being so far away from him. I check my phone again for any updates, but there is nothing.

The plane ride was terrible. There was nothing to distract me from thinking about Henry. Why was it so important that the doctor speak to us in person.

After what felt like ten hours it was time to land.

I got off the plane and headed to my desk in the bullpen to grab something, when I saw a familiar face sitting at it.

"Hey," she said, "what are you doing here?"

"What am I doing here?" I say astounded.

"It's a really long story. In simple terms, I regret ed leaving. I missed you way to much and was crazy busy at Interpol. I had already planned on visiting when Rossi called. He said Blake had resigned and needed a replacement. I had already texted you and Garcia that I was coming so I decided to surprise you tonight. I start tomorrow." She explained. "But why are you here on your own, I thought you just caught the unsub." Ahh she must have already talked to Garcia.

"Henry," I said, I already hated explaining this. It was the third time today and I was loosing it. Before I could continue, I broke down and started crying. She held me, and finally got the whole story out.

"You really shouldn't be driving right now. I'll drive you." She said.

"Thank you." I took a deep breath. "It's good to have you back." I said.

"It is good to be back," Emily Prentiss said smiling.
