Chapter 8.5

Addilyn'S P.O.V.

I was awoken from my slumber by the sudden pounding coming from our front door. I groaned and grabbed my pillow and shoved it over my head, hoping to drown out the sound of the constant pounding.

I slowly removed the pillow from over my head as the pounding had seemed to stop. I laid in silence staring up at the ceiling before the banging started again. I let out a loud groan and jumped out of bed before stomping to the front door.

Upon opening the door, I came face to face with a disheveled looking Nate.
I went to close the door but Nate was able to shove his foot in and stop the door from completely closing.

I groaned as he opened the door.

"Can we talk?" I rolled my eyes and walked out the door and shut the door quietly seeing as Patty and Sam were still sleeping after a long night of... fun.

"What do you want Nate?" I sighed closing my eyes and running my hand through my hair.

"I'm sorry." He stepped closer, causing me to take a step back. His eyes filled with with a glint of sadness and for a split second I felt remorse, but then I remembered why we were even here in the first place and kept my face emotionless. "Look I don't know what you want me to say but-"

I cut him off before he could finish his sentence and held my hand up, "Why were you with your ex when you clearly told me that you were gonna be at the studio? because that sounds pretty fucken suspicious if you ask me"

"I can't tell you why she was here, its personal and she asked me to keep her secret." I let out a laugh and shook my head.

"Then what are you doing here?" His faced morphed into confusion as he looked at me.

"I came to apologize."

"I cant forgive you right now Nate, maybe we should just spend some time apa-"

"No!" He cut me off as his face morphed into one of panic. "You can't do that! Just because I was out with Gabri?"

"No. Not because you went out with Gabri, but because you don't even trust your own girlfriend. If you would have told me you were going to meet up with Gabri things would have ended differently, I mean sure I was gonna be mad at first but I would've gotten over it." At this point my eyes were watery, but it had to be done.

"I would've told you but I was scared this would happen." His eyes were glassy but he kept it together.

"But you didn't Nate and that's what hurts the most." I tear made its way down my face and I quickly wiped it away. "At this point, I think we both need space and time to think things through." The second tear escaped and I took one last look at him before making my way inside and shutting the door before he could try and stop me.

I ran to my room as Patty walked out of her room with a confused look on her face as she looked at me. She came to walk towards me but I shook my head and slammed the door. I collapsed on my bed and closed my eyes, welcoming the darkness that overcame me.

Nate's P.O.V.

I lost her.

I had lost her and there was nothing I could do but give her space.

I closed my eyes and scolded myself for my own stupidity. I wouldn't admit it to anyone but I had fallen for her and now I had lost her because I didn't trust her enough to tell her where I was.

It's not that I didn't want to tell her but Gabri made me promise that this would be the last time we were ever going to see each other again and I found no need to tell Addy because I was never going to see Gabri again, but I just fucked everything up.

One thing is for sure though, I refuse to lose her and I refuse to lose this stupid bet!
