"Can you put sunscreen on me Hayes?" I ask. I look up from my phone and find that smile sill on his face. "You do realize that's a move girls use on guys?" he asks me, but grabs the sunscreen anyway. "I can't put it on my back though", I comment. I'm really enjoying the way Hayes is giving me this smile, I don't know exactly why but he makes me want to stay with him all day. I hold my hair up while I feel the coldness of the lotion on my back. "I can put some on your back if you want, which I advise because I don't know how attractive you'll look as a lobster", I tease. Hayes laughs, then wraps his arm around me from the back and he's right there next to my ear. "I'm done", he tells me right before placing a kiss on my shoulder and lets me go. I turn towards him and he holds out the sunscreen to me, I take it and apply it on him. I really need to control my feelings, it was just a small gesture. A kiss on the shoulder is no big deal, yet my heart's fluttering like crazy.

"We should join in the next game", Hayes suggests while we walk towards the volleyball game my teammates are playing. "I don't play volleyball. I'm so bad at it, buy you should play", I tell him. He grabs my hand and we sit in chairs that been set out. "I don't want to play unless you do", he comments. I look his way and give his hand a small squeeze. "Go play. They need one more player. I'd love to watch you play, it'll be nice to be the one watching instead of playing for once", I urge. He doesn't say anything at first but simply watches me. I suppose to see if I mean my words, however he nods and gives me a kiss on the forehead before calling out that he'll play. Once the game starts, I'm surprised to see that he's not bad at it. After a while I begin to cheer him on and yell his name, he looks at me and gives me a wink. However, the next thing I see is the ball hitting him straight in the face. He's knocked off his feet and I go to run towards him. Although he's on his feet again by the time I get to him. "I'm ok", he reassures me and even produces a smile. I laugh and tell him, "You have a big red spot on your face, but if you say so Hayes." He laughs along and asks, "I am ok, unless you want to take my spot?" I playfully smack him, but he only continues, "I mean it was your fault distracting me and all." I gasp and tell him, "It was not my fault and for that I might tell them to aim towards your face some more." This only makes him laugh more, so I just walk back to the chair I was sitting in and stick my tongue out at him.

As the sun begins to set I find myself next to the water's edge with the ocean slopping against my feet. The cold water calms me, since I've been in the sun all day. An arm is wrapped around my shoulders and I look over to find Hayes, but he's staring out at the sunset. I move closer to him and place my arms around his waist, then lean my head against his shoulder. "Sometimes I wish I can stay in moments like these forever. If I could stop time, I'd want it to be now with you in my arms Abbi", Hayes finally speaks. I look up at him, but he's still staring out. "When I'm with you, I never want to leave", the words come out of my mouth before I can stop them. I hide my face in his shirt, but he uses his hand to make me face him. "I wish you wouldn't say those things, I only fall deeper for you", he tells me. I can't breathe in this moment, because he's slowly moving towards my lips. I close my eyes, I don't think seconds have ever felt so long than waiting for Hayes to kiss me. Except he doesn't. I open my eyes again and look at Hayes. He's not facing me anymore, but out at the ocean again. "I'm going to finally listen to you and not kiss you until the day comes where you tell me you're mine. I saw how you wanted me to kiss you though, just thought you'd like to know", he comments before adding, "We should join the others. It looks like they got the fire going." He drops his arm from around me and begins to walk back. There's so much going through my mind, but he can't leave like that. I grab his hand, but don't know what to say. He looks back at me and I can tell he understands this. "Are we okay?" is the only thing I can muster out. Hayes gives me a small reassuring smile and replies, "We're okay Ab. No matter what you decide, just know I'll still be here for you." He tightens his grip on my hand and leads the both of us to the camp fire.

"I always burn mine. I try so hard not to and yet they always catch fire", I say while placing a huge marshmallow on a stick. "Don't stick it so close to the fire then", Hayes comments. I playfully smack him and ask, "You don't think I know that?" We both move forward and stick our marshmallows in the fire. I can tell mine is getting brown, but I want to leave it there just for a little longer. However, the next thing I know the marshmallow next to mine catches on fire. I move away, but it's too late, my marshmallow is also on fire. I look over at the person next to me, seeing Shay smiling cheaply at me. Hayes begins to burst out into laughter. I glare at him, but can't keep my stare for too long and end up laughing along too. "I told you it always ends up burning", I tell him. Hayes grabs my stick and gets up to walk over to the chocolate and graham crackers. He hands me an already made s'mores, but before I take a bite I notice it's not burned. "Hayes you did not", I say astonishingly. "I don't know what you're talking about, but you should eat the s'mores I made for you before it falls apart in your hand", he nonchalantly says. However, before he can take his first bite I see the black marshmallow on his s'mores. "Thank you", I say right before eating mine. He smiles at me, but has chocolate all over his mouth. I begin to laugh and reach over to wipe some of it off, which Hayes takes this moment to take a bit off of my s'mores. I gasp and smash the rest of it on his face. His whole body stiffens and he doesn't say a word. Then he smashes his s'mores in my face. I can feel the gooey chocolate and sticky marshmallow all over my face. I open my eyes and look at Hayes again. We both begin to laugh uncontrollably. "Come here. This is picture worthy", he tells me. I sit on his lap and wrap my arms around his neck. Once he gets his phone out I scrunch my nose and close my eyes while making a weird face. Then I feel his tongue lick my cheek that has chocolate on it. I open my eyes automatically, but it doesn't matter because I see the picture already on the screen. "Hayes Grier", I firmly say. He smiles at me unfazed and tells me, "You looked to delicious to pass that up." I shake my head at him, but smile anyway.

"I told you, didn't I?" Ashlee asks once she sits down next to me. I avert my gaze from Hayes, who's getting paper towels for us, to her. "About what?" I reply with a question. She smiles at me while answering, "Hayes. I caught the two of you down at the beach waters earlier. Abbi admit it, he's the one you like." I bite my lip, not sure how to reply to her. However, I hear Hayes voice behind me so I take this moment to change the subject. "Well it's kind of late, we should get going", I announce. Ashlee shakes her head at me, but tells me, "See you soon Abbi and welcome to Dash." When she leans in to give me a hug I hear her whisper, "Allow yourself to be happy again."

Once I get to my apartment, I find a very worried Lele in my living room. "Lele what's wrong?" I ask. She sighs at the notice of me and replies, "Why haven't you been answering your phone? Never mind that, it's Twan. He's been in an accident and is in the hospital."

I know I'm always thanking everyone for reading, but it really does mean a lot to me. So thank you! Keep commenting below on your thoughts of the story!

Did anyone notice how the s'mores in the face was similar with the scene between Abbi and Twan with ice cream?? But reversed.

I didn't put a photo considering it would be Hayes again, I feel like he gets a lot of dedications. Maybe that says something, I don't know. But this chapter is dedicated to Hayes lol.

Officially nine more chapters! I don't think there'll be an epilogue but who knows I could change my mind.

Well until next week :)
