Chapter 2
Kyra Auburn’s POV
I sighed in relief, GOD! What have I got myself into? Austin Vinson wants to see me? That idiot can’t even recognise me when he makes my life hell at school. As I drove back home, I decided to visit Derik for a while. When I arrived, I knocked on the front door and his came mum greeted me.
“Kyra, sweet heart! What are you doing here this late?” asked Alice, Derik’s mum.
“Um, just come to say hi to him,” I said whilst walking in.
“Okay then, he’s up in his room,” with that she went to watch TV, X-Factor. I walked to Derik’s room and trespass. There was no one inside until someone’s hand wrap around my waist and caught me off guard. I let out a muffled scream because of the mystery person’s hand covering my mouth.
“Sheesh Kyra, do you want my mum to come up?” Derik asked.
“Oh my god, you scared the shit out of me,” I whispered yelled, patting my heart. He gave me a childish smile. I jumped on his bed and went under the blanket. I got comfortable and he joined in.
He cuddled me and asked, “What are you doing here so late?”
“I went to mum’s new best friend’s dinner and then meet the guy I least excepted to see,” I replied tiredly.
“And who is this person?”
“Austin Vinson,” he lifted himself with his elbow and look down at me.
“You went to dinner at Austin’s house?” he asked raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah,” I said bluntly. You see, Austin and Derik are best friend but doesn’t go to the same school. They see each other almost every day to hit on chicks or to just hangout. As for Derik and I we are best friends too, we dated before but it was better as friends. Derik and Enisa know how I’m treated at my school and how I am outside of school.
“Did he recognise you?” he asked starting to get curious.
“Nope, that dumbass didn’t recognise me,” I spat hatefully.
“He’s not that bad, once you get to know him. And I admit that this you compared to the other you, you look completely different. And in school you barely talk and outside of school you’re talkative, crazy, hypo and countless things that not much people know,” he said breathlessly.
I smiled.
“Awww, I’m that much to you, baby?” I said sweetly yet so tiredly.
“You should show your real self and there will be endless guy lusting for you,” He muttered in my hair. I yawned and rested my eyes.
I woke up and found myself still wrapped in Derik’s arm. I realised I must’ve fell asleep in his arm. I sat up softly trying not to wake him up and tippy toe out of the room and jumped in the car to drive home. As I come into the house no one was awake yet, so I went upstairs and striped out of my last night’s dress and took a hot shower. As I turned on the water, I thought of Austin. What am I going to do now? Is he going to recognise me now that he knows the real me? Hundreds question ran through my head. I got out of the shower and dress in my hobo clothes and platted my hair neatly. I went down to see mum finishing making breakfast.
“Morning mum,” I greeted. She turned around and smiled.
“Morning dear,” she greeted back. I went to the fruit basket and grabbed an apple and headed to school. I walked along the path still thinking if Austin would recognise me. As I was lost in thought, my phone started ringing. I looked at the number and it was unknown. I hesitantly answered the phone, wondering why anyone would call this early.
