Chapter 3
Kyra Auburn’s POV
Damn it!!! As I sped to Enisa’s house, the scene of what I had yelled to Austin kept replaying in my mind. I got out of the car when I arrived and walked to Enisa’s door.
“Kyra! What’s wrong honey?” Enisa’s mother asked me when she saw me. To me, she was like a mother, just like my mother being Enisa’s.
“Um, nothing wrong, I just wanna find Enisa,” I smiled.
“Oh, okay, she’s in her room,” she smiled merrily. I went up to her room and went in without knocking.
“Jeez, Kyra! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?” she childishly glared. I sighed and sat at her dressing table.
“So, what’s up with that face?” she asked lying flat on her belly on the bed. So I explained the whole situation to her, she nodded understandingly and sighed.
“Wow, that was kind of mean of you,” she stated.
“Me? Mean? Who’s the one who always bully me at school?” I complained, huffing. She sighed again.
“Okay Kyra, first of all, he doesn’t know you’re the Kyra that he bullies. Second, so far he’s treating you nicely based on your story and lastly, when you yelled that into his face, don’t you think that he would be suspicious?”
Great, she has a point, no, three points to be correct. I looked up at the suddenly interesting pink ceiling trying to avoid her gaze.
“So, you’re practically just PMSed on the poor guy,” she continued.
“But seriously, he bullies me at school! All he wants to do is get in my pants, that dumbass doesn’t even recognise me!” I puffed getting all angry again. I seriously need anger management classes.
“Well, he bullies you probably because his popular position in school.”
“That’s what I meant. He’s only getting close to me because I’m not dressing up as a freak! Not because of who I am,” I shouted frustrated.
“My god Kyra, calm down. Okay, answer this honestly, do you hate him because he treated you that way at school?”
“I just hate him,” I said simply.
“Why do you hate him? Besides school that is.”
“I… don’t know,” I honestly said. Why do I feel like this? Like I don’t even hate him and I do at the same time. God, I’m having a headache.
“You like him,” she said simply. “One kachillion percent sure,” she finished. I looked at her with disbelief.
“Are you kidding me?! Me? Like him?! My ass! I don’t like him!”
“And, you’re in denial,” she smiled crookedly and then her phone starts ringing. She immediately sat up looking at the phone. I guess it was Carson. She smile sheepishly and answered the phone. I rolled my eyes and head home.
It was late, and I had school the next day but I decided to go to the night club instead, to try and wash away my problems. The booming music was washing all my thoughts away. I went to the bartender and ordered a Blue Passion. I watched as he shook the shaker and poured it into a cup. I scrunched my face as I drank it all. It was strong but just wasn’t strong enough so I ordered a Magic 78 Vodka too. He raised an eyebrow and handed me the drink. Then again, I glugged the whole cup down and went to the dance floor. Everything was spinning and I knew I was drunk. I swayed to the music and bounced my body to the beat. I dragged myself out of the club to get some air and crashed into a talking brick wall. ‘Oof’ it said.
