Nightcloud blinked open her eyes, expecting to see her nest, but instead saw the walls of her tribute nest. Right. I'm about to be sent to my death by my own son. she thought. She got up to see the rest of the Windclan tributes sitting in the den, waiting for training. "Good morning Nightcloud." Owlwhisker meowed. "Oh good morning. When is training?" Nightcloud asked. "It should be soon we've been up for a while." Owlwhisker replied. "We were thinking that we should all work together to win. Then we can choose which one of us gets out alive if we win. Will you join?" Owlwhisker asked. Should I? I would be more likely to win, but Breezepelt would love to see me loose my friends. I might as well, just to protect them. It's not like I'm getting out alive anyway. "Sure." Nightcloud agreed. We will be stronger together.

A few moments later the rock blocking the entrance to the den was moved. Everyone stepped out cautiously and saw the island had different stations set up that teach you about  or let you practice a skill. One was using weapons, like Scourge's bone claws and sharp objects to attach to the tip of your tail known as tail slashers. Another was for herbs, to show you how to use them and what to use them for. There was a hunting station that showed you how to hunt in each territory, fishing in Riverclan, the hunter's crouch in Thunderclan, leaping into trees in Skyclan, hiding in the shadows in Shadowclan, and sprinting after prey in Windclan. Another taught you how to fight enemies other than cats that will "randomly" appear in the games. The final station teaches you how to blend into objects. Nightcloud padded over to the weapon station and attached the tail slasher to her tail. It felt heavy at first, but after a while she got used to it. In fact she was great at using it. She slashed the wooden dummies that popped up. A few cats glanced at her after she finished. She noticed the looks of surprise and took the tail slasher off before joining her clanmates again. "How did you do that?" Sunstrike meowed in awe. "I don't know it's not that hard." Nightcloud explained while Icewing, a Riverclan she, fell over herself while trying to use the tail slasher correctly. "Sure it's not that hard." Sunstrike retorted, "If we get one of those, it's all yours." she purred before heading over to the herb station.

Icewing's tail felt like there was a rock stuck to it. When she tried to lift it up, she would fall over backwards. How will I ever win if I can't even use the weapons? She tried a few more times then gave up. She took the tail slasher off and padded away from the station, tail dragging. She caught Pebblefoot's eye and watched as he approached. "So how are you doing with your training?" he asked. "Good." she lied. "Well I was wondering if you would like to work together to win this?" Pebblefoot asked. If I work with someone I don't have to be good at using a weapon! Icewing thought. "Sure that would be great." Icewing replied. Pebblefoot's eyes lit up. "Great! Have you tried the hunting station yet?" he asked. "Not yet." Icewing replied. "It helps a lot and nobody seems to be using it, surprisingly. Follow me." he meowed before padding over to the hunting station. Icewing followed.

Ok burdock for rat bites, marigold for infection, cobwebs to stop bleeding, yarrow for, um, stomach aches, I think. Dovewing glanced at what yarrow was used for. Darn it! It's for throwing up poison. I'll never remember all of this! She gazed hopelessly at the list of herbs. "Oh hey Dovewing!" Ivypool greeted from behind her. "Hey." she replied glumly. "So how is your training going? Have you memorized a lot of herbs." Ivypool asked. "It's going ok. How's your's going?" Dovewing inquired. "Great! I've learned how to use the tail slasher and the bone claws." she replied excitedly. "Well we might have a shot at winning this." Dovewing meowed. But how will we kill each other in the end? Tigerstar yowled from the tree, "Tributes, return to your dens. Four more days until the games." Dovewing sighed and returned to the Thunderclan. Only four more days until I'm sent to my doom with 15 other cats.
