Villain In My Veins
Your love is a toxin that grows with time
Reducing my days of happiness to none
You make my heart beat, yet my veins shiver
Like your cold hands have ripped them out of place
We ran wild in the day towards our future
Until you dawned your mask in the shadows
Independent is what I once was in your arms
Until you rewired me with your simple affliction
Are you the villain causing my pain?
Or is it the blood that courses my fragile veins?
You are Mystique, yet I can never get enough
For every scar reminds that you were once mine
Now you're with another hero who needs a villain
While you've made me my own villain
Desperate to destroy the villain in my veins
