Present day...
I kept silent as my paw slowly hit the earth. I had been tracking the herd of elk for 3 days. Now they were finally rights in front of me. I carefully take another step forward very slowly but the earth seemed to have a different idea as I accidentally step on a branch "Shoot! And I was so exited for that meal!".
I think as the bull elk I was going for perks his head and starts herding his cows away as fast as possible. I groan, rolling my eyes and sprint after a limping cow elk who gets left behind in the males efforts to save his ladies.
I injure the cows leg further by nipping at it constantly. I easily keep up with the limp female, running at a medium pace. "Run run as fast as you can, you can't catch me I'm the gingerbread-man!" I blink a few times, slowing my pace but still keeping up with the elk. "Why of all things does that song cross my mind?!" I think to myself questioningly, shocked at the randomness my brain comes up with.
The elk eventually slows and starts kicking at me as it lost its breath to run anymore. A devilish grin forms on my lips as I snarl at the elk and pounce at it. Grabbing hold of its neck I pull at its skin as hard as I can, sinking my canines in deep.
I eventually hear the cows windpipe snap and I let go, letting the elk slowly collapse into death, I grin. "Lunch is served." I mutter to myself before reconsidering and looking up at the sun. "Or maybe its dinner. Meh, who cares."
I place my paw on the unscathed skin of the beast and lean down, tearing into the flesh of the creature. I rip a piece of meat from its bones, trickles of blood run down my muzzle and I savour the taste of fresh meat. "Geez, This is good..." I mutter to myself.
It had been days, maybe even a week or so since my last meal. Something was going on with the breeding of elk near my den, so I had to start traveling in order to find food.
Unfortunately, it took hours to travel the ground I needed to cover to find one of the three herds I had located further down the valley of slough creek. I found out from a skittish coyote I pinned down that the area was called "Dougles fir slopes". I hadn't seen any other wolves since that night, partly because I always avoided them.
After finishing my meal, I allowed my body to fall limply to the ground and darkness immediately came over me as I allowed myself to fall into a deep slumber...
