< Spirit >
"Hey Spirit!" He said playfully, doing a little roll on the ground as if showing off. "What do you want soul?" I asked, tired and hungry from my day of play, of course there was currently a food storage due to the elks moving across rivers during the mornings ice overtakes the rushing rivers before thawing back to the dangerous state once again. We couldn't cross them, for by the time we make a kill the hunters would be stuck on the other side till daybreak the next morning, by that time they would've already eaten the carcass and we'd be left with nothing once again.
I hadn't realized I had spaced out, Souls voice cut me out of my trance. "Spirit? Hello~?"
"Huh? Oh.."
"I was uh, wondering umm.. if you.. uhhh..."
"I can't understand you when you stutter Soul"
"Well, you see, I was wondering if you wanted to go dig up bones with me sometime..."
"Can't, Fathers mad at me."
"Oh... well maybe-"
"I'm sorry soul, could we continue this conversation later? I'm very- Tired" I said, yawning in-between my sentence.
"Oh, I see.. As you wish." He smiled, showing off his puppy chompers. The next thing I know I see Soul curled in a ball slowly rolling away.. He always was one for dramatic entrances and exits...
I laid my head down on the cold stone ground, my body falling limp I layed down and could hear his good mood plummet down as he started to speak to his friend. "Its useless, I'll always just be a friend to her."
I kept my eyes closed as my mind ran wild on what that could mean. "I didn't mean to hurt his feelings." I thought to myself as his head dropped. I huffed and my body started to fall limp as a soundless slumber overtook me.
Although a pair of eyes seemed to be watching me...
Sorry its such a short chapter but I wanted to allow next chapter to have the full affect.
