We arrived at the restaurant, Rico's parents are already inside waiting for us.
"Do I really have to join? Di ba pwedeng di na lang ako kasama total sasabihin mo rin naman sa kanila yung totoo di ba?" I ask with hesitation.
Rico grabe my hand.
"Aren't you being rude young lady?" He smiled while asking
"Its just a lunch, no big deal." He said while gently pressing my hand.
"But...." Tutulo ko.
"It's gonna be fine, I promise." He said
I look at him, ngayon ko lang napansin that Rico is indeed a handsome man. Napaka perfect ng mukha niya.
Natigilan ako sa aking pag-iisip ng hilahin na niya ako papasok sa loob.
"Hey mom, dad. Sorry po medyo na traffic po kami eh" Rico said.
"It's okay iho we just arrived too." His dad said
Sakto namang dating ng waiter at kaniya-kaniya na naming sinabi ang mga food na gusto namin. After that, the waiter walk away.
"Aren't you hungry iha? Pasta lang inorder mo." Maam Cony ask with concern.
"It's okay ma'am, I love pasta po kasi" sabi ko
"Oh please, just call me tita na lang. I feel so old sa "ma'am eh. And besides your Rico's girlfriend." She said happily.
I look at Rico he was smiling at me, napa-smile na rin ako.
Our order arrived, while eating Rico's mom keeps on saying that she is so happy to see Rico with a women. At umaagree din ang daddy niya.
Actually, I wasn't uncomfortable with the conversation at all. I was eating my pasta happily at that time.
"You should bring Sophia at the wedding iho" sabi ng daddy niya.
Tumingin ako kay Rico sabay kurot ng hita niya, signaling that he should tell the truth now.
"Uhmm. Mom.. Dad.." Rico said while looking at me..
"May sasabihin po sana ako" Rico continue...
"What is it anak?" His mom ask.
"About po sa amin......" Rico was interrupted sa ring ng phone ng mommy niya.
"Oh, wait a sec iho" sabi ng mommy niya.
Nagkatinginan kami ni Rico. Tumango siya sa akin as a sign na itutuloy niya ang sasabihin after the call.
"Oh Beth, what happen?" Nag-aalalang tanong ng mommy niya
"What? Where are you now?" Gulat na tanong nito
"Okay. I get that"
"Okay, Frank and I will be there now" after that she ended the call.
"What happen sweetheart?" Rico's dad ask
"Beth's husband has an accident, nasa hospital sila ngayon." Natatarantang sabi ni tita
"Is uncle Harold fine mom?" Rico ask with concern.
"They still don't know anak, kaya pupunta kami ng daddy mo ngayon sa hospital" sabi ni tita
Tita Cony look at me..
"Iha we are so sorry for this, may emergency lang. I am so happy to meet you. Hayaan mo babawi ako sayo magkikita pa nman tayo sa wedding ni Trisha eh" tita said sincerely
"Ingat po kayo" ang tangi kong nasabi.
"Oh, iho ano nga pala yung sasabihin mo" sabi ni tito habang tumatayo.
"Ah dad its about..."
I stop Rico by holding his hand, he look at me at marahan akong umiling.
"Uhmm, nothing dad sige po at naghihintay na sa inyu si Tita beth." Sabi na lang niya
"Okay, bye for now sa inyung dalawa." Sabi ng mama niya
Naka alis na ang parents ni Rico and we decided na umalis na din sa place na yun. After niyang mag bayad ay lumabas na kami at nagtungo sa parking lot.
