Sorry updates are taking so long readers. I started writing other stories too, that I haven't published yet, and that always slows down other stories. I'm writing one that hoping is going to be good enough for me to post it on Fanfiction.net or even Inkitt. So far though it's a no go, I'm hoping to finish a few chapters before I even start publishing it so let's just see how things work out ..

anyway enjoy

Once we got inside Choji showed me to where the bathroom was so we could wash up before dinner. Choza insisted we clean up properly sence i had practically been rolling around in the dirt at the garden, hey im 8 dirt is expected. So i got to shower there and let me tell you I have never been so jealous of somone else's shower. It was big a beautiful, clean (unlike the one in the Moreno house) and had so many settings you couldn't possibly try them all! I had to restrain myself from asking if I could just shower here from now on.

After we were all cleaned up, choji used his parents bathroom, the two of us trooped down to the dining room. It was a good thing I didn't mind wearing dirty cloths, I mean I went without for years back in Kiri. Once seated with the rest of the family the food was uncovered and the smell filled the room.

At this moment I was glad I have lived long enough to taste Akamichi family cooking. Smiling up at the adults I gave a quick "Thanks for the food!" And dug in alongside choji who had already devoured his first lamb chop.

There was everything! Beef, pork, sushi, lamb, stews, and puddings, deserts of all sorts... I took no time in helping empty the platter of beef ribs and sushi rolls.

The room was filled with the sounds if eating and I finally took a breather to drink my tea. Slowing down my eating but not stoping and having fun stealing stuff off choji's plate before he could eat it. He would glare at me and steal somthing from my plate and it soon turned into an all out stealing war.

I am very proud to say I one due to years of experience and instinct to eat whenever I get the chance. Choji may have ate more, but I want far behind and feeling better than ever.

After the adults had a few laughs watching us we finally settled down and conversation could begin. Tedsa started us off.

"I admit I'm impressed you eat more than most your age," she chuckled.

I smiled, "ya well I'm used to eating whenever you can. We don't exactly have a set schedule for meals and just usually but somthing from a market stand. Or order take out"

This caught Choza's attention, "oh so you must not be too used to having so much"

I shook my head, completely missing the breef flash of pitty on Choza's face "Nope, to be honest until I went to the Nara compound last night I had never had a home cooked meal." I shrugged not seeing that this was unusual. I had always asumed that it was normal.

"Well we should have a talk with that father of yours" Tedsa winked playfully.

I couldn't help but laugh, even Choza snorted. "Pa cook! Sorry I don't think we can afford a new kitchen" it was in that moment I pictured Konohas lead interigator whistling and dancing through the kitchen in a bright yellow frilly apron yelling at Idate to cut up the vegetables. "Idate probably wouldn't be as bad but he would want it done faster and probably try to cook it with Jutsu or something"

Choza chuckled and so did his wife, from the way they didn't ask about Pa I assumed that Tedsa already knew.

To my suprize my munching buddy is the one who asked a question, just not the one I expected. "Yu-chan, who's Idate?"

It was then I realized I haven't told them about my family, he knows who Pa is but that's because Pa comes to pick me up sometimes. I scratched the back of my head embarrassed, "oh that's right, I guess you wouldn't know. Well Idate is my big brother, sort of."

Choji's eyes went wide " you have a brother! "

I shrugged "technically he's my uncle, Pa's little brother, but we are close enough in age that I call him my big brother."

"What's he like?" And so I launched into the story that was Idate. Rambling on about our glaring contests over the last dango, or how I made him check under my bed for monsters, they way he dragged me around the village at high speeds and this one time I drew a cat on his face when he passed our after a mission once.

"Wow you really are a terror Yu-chan" choji commented when I finished. His parents had been listening half heartedly and having their own conversation.

Before long it got dark and I bid the Akamichi's goodbye. Picking up the pile of food from earlier and some left overs Tedsa insisted I take home.

I made my way through town and got home just before dark. By now I could hear the muffled screams of the prisoners kept only a mile or so away from the house. They don't bother me anymore, I've gotten used to it by now but I did speed up to get inside where silenceing seals stoped them completely.

Those screams could get annoying after all. The seals wernt strong so some of the louder ones could be herd on ocation. I asked Pa about that once and he told me it was so we could get peace and quiet but if any were to excape or if the village were attacked we could have fair warning instead of being completely oblivious. You know somtimes I think he's a genus.

Kicking the door open with my foot sence I couldn't unlock it with an armful of food. "IM HOOOOOME!"

At first there was no response and I began taking off my shoes when suddenly I heard a crash and a few things falling to the floor. In a flash Idate came whipping around the corner "IMOTO!!" He nocked me over in a hug causing me to drop all the food I had just carried in.

"Ouch.. gosh darn it Idate if you broke open any of the lunch packs in there I'll strangle you!" I sighed as he chuckled and got off me "now help me put this stuff away. Then we can hang out."

" yes, hey hey hey Imoto guess what!" I raised an eyebrow as I began putting things in the cubords and fridge. "I have training tomorrow but no missions so sensei said I could bring you along and we can spend the day together. You know have some Brother sister time!"

I smiled " I look forward to it, I don't have anything else planned anyway" I said genuinely looking forward to it.
