As Dr. Tasha Worthington stepped on the private plane in New Orleans, she was hoping the disastrous morning she had would result in a better day. Her morning started out with her knocking over coffee on her transcribed notes ruining them. She thanked God she still had them on her computer. To top that off she had packed everything but her clothes and didn't realize it until she was half way to the airport. Running back to the apartment she tripped over the step that led to the patio for which she had forgotten to lock. Her life had been in chaos since Sasha had been missing.
She didn't realize how much she depended her on. Sasha cooked enough for leftovers, provided financial and emotional support for her. The question was what had she truly done for Sasha but to give her a hard time? She cringed at the feeling of guilt that came over her. Although their real parents didn't raise them, Sasha had always been there for her. Sasha made sure all the household bills were paid, including her tuition for fellowship and took care of the little things for Tasha.
Sasha made enough money to take care of herself and Tasha, making her life easier. Tasha rarely had to go to their parents for anything because Sasha would always provide. Even when Sasha started dating Chase she never discarded Tasha whether she was mad with her or not. As Tasha left the apartment, her tears began to fall. She loved her sister more then life itself and she promised that she would do better by her.
She had to get an executive order from the FBI since her passport had expired. Chase was able to talk to his Commander to make it happen.
The Government was being a bully. Hell she had a medical license and was board certified. Just getting a license in Louisiana should count for something. She had to get medicines approved and shipped to Brazil so she would be able to help Sasha.
When Chase called her a couple days ago and told her Sasha had been found, she was elated until he told her how bad she was. Her twin sister had suffered so much and the one way she could help was by reviewing her x-rays, medical records and toxicology reports. She had worked for days trying to get the right combination of medicines lined up to help her sister.
The ten hour non-stop flight felt like eternity to get there. Her parents had already made it to Rio almost a day after Chase's call, but she needed to find the resources to help Sasha recover. Brazil didn't have the state of the art equipment like University Hospital in New Orleans so she had to stay back and make sure the equipment was available for travel.
The hospital had agreed as long as scientific evidence could be proven and published. She would have agreed to anything if it could help Sasha. The thought of her sister lying there in a coma broke her heart. When Chase had called her she broke down. She was glad she was with their parents when she had the melt down.
The news had shown the daring rescue on every television station for the past week. Sasha was an overnight sensation but she feared that in the process she might die. The pain in her heart was nothing that she could ever compare. Losing a twin, a person that you shared the same wound with for nine months, the person that knew you better than anyone else could be there one minute and gone the next. The reality of the whole situation was just too much.
On the plane ride she was able to reflect over the past year. She was probably not the nicest sister in the world, she did wreck Sasha's car one night coming back from work. She did borrow money a lot from Sasha to buy things, but that would all change. She got promoted at work and so now she would be able repay her Sister that always had her back. She reviewed her notes and looked over Sasha's records. She might have found the answer they all had been looking for.
The plane had finally landed and Tasha exited the plane. The heat outside in Rio was scorching. The sun was blazing and just the little walk from the terminal to inside had her sweating. The humidity in New Orleans was bad, but this was fifty percent worse. She finally made it in the airport and an Agent met her.
