(Mikes POV)
"Are you a boy? Or a girl?"
Since it was so warm in our house today, I treated Jeremy to ice cream to discuss wedding plans. He had a bag of notes and everything.
"Hm? Oh, I'm a b-boy..." Replied Jeremy, leaning over and licking his ice pop. He smiled at the little boy, the boys eyes lighting up. He ran off to his mom, tugging at her sleeve.
"Momma! Momma, see...? B-Boys can be p-pretty, too!" He squealed, pointing at Jeremy. Jeremy blushed, fixing the bow/hairband that he cutely adorned, as well as his light grey shirt and white sport shorts.
Leave it to Jeremy to be able to wear a headband as well as sport shirts in the timespan of one day, let alone at the same time. He was so cute.
We licked our ice creams and sat down, Jeremy pulling out his book. We started discussing wedding plans, when the doors to the shop opened. We glanced over, seeing... Scott.. And Vince?
They walked over and ordered whatever. Well, Vince did. Scott stayed silent, even though he's almost literally 6'8. I'm 5'11, Vince is 5'7... (Give or take. He might actually be 4'11, I have no idea..) and Jeremy is 5'0, even.
Then they walked over to us.
"Hey guys!" Chirped Scott, his usual happy voice was laced with something.... Sadder. He seemed upset, but I didn't want to upset him even more.
"Heya." I waved, with s small smile. Jeremy had a mouthful of icecream, do he just waved. "Hows everything with you guys?"
Silence. They shifted, almost uncomfortably. I heard small crunches, seeing Scott slowly breaking the cone on his icecream, the cream itself starting to drop down his hand.
"S-Scott?" Said Jeremy, his soft voice laced with concern. Scotts eyes welled up with tears, the icecream falling to the floor. He turned on his heel, running out of the shop while starting to cry.
"H-Huh?" I asked, looking up at Vince. "Vince? What happened?"
"I-..." He patted for a chair and sat down, looking at the slightly melting strawberry icecream on his cone. He looked away. "S-Scott p-proposed...."
"He w-what...?!" Jeremy almost cried, but his voice dropped to a low whisper. His hand went to his shirt, holding the neckline.
"I love and w-want to m-marry him... But... I don't know if I'm ready...." Vince gave a shaky sigh, taking a lick of the dripping icecream. "I never answered, o-only telling him I w-wanted to, but... I wasn't ready..."
"Well, if you didn't answer, then.... You could still say yes." I said softly, licking my own icecream.
"Huh?"
"If you didn't answer, you didn't technically say no. You didn't answer, meaning you could still say yes."
"Mike, I can't do that.... You know I can't... He won't--.." Vince tried to argue.
"Vince, just... Say yes." Said Jeremy. "T-Talk to him an m-make everything okay."
"But--"
"D-Don't argue with me." Jeremy said sternly, turning away and licking his icecream. "I don't w-want e-excuses, I want you to f-fix your r-relationship. Go. Now."
Vince gave Jeremy a look, getting up and hurrying off after Scott.
"I hope they work it out.." I mutter, licking my ice cream again. Jeremy nods, and we go back to discussing wedding plans.
!!-SURPRISE! Vince's' POV-!!
I pushed open the doors of the shop, glancing my head in eight different directions to look for Scott. He couldn't have gone far....
I walk right, almost positive this is the way Scott ran. Oh my god, what have I done? I broke his heart, didn't I?
Scratch that, I'll correct myself. I've broken his heart, haven't I?
I walk through the streets, hearing very soft crying. You really have to listen to hear it, but I would recognize those sounds anywhere. Scott.
Turning the corner was the worst thing I've ever done in my life, for one reason and one reason only. Why?
Because I had to watch my Scotty cry.
That wasn't even the worst part. The worst part? A razor blade sat in Scotts hand, and blood flowing from his wrists. I gasped, running over and sliding down on my knees infront of him.
"S-Scott--! Oh my god, what did you--?!"
"I'm s-sorry..."
I looked up, hearing the razor drop to the ground. My eyes welled up. Oh god, I did this... I made him hurt himself.
"I'm s-sorry Vince.... I'm so s-stupid, I'm sorry..." He whimpered, looking down with sad eyes.
"Oh god, Scott... No, it's not your fault," I kept glancing up at him, and down at the bloody wrists. "It's mine... Scott, you know that I want to marry you. More then anything. I just... Wasn't sure if I was ready yet..."
Scott looked up. He gulped, and looked down at the blood. "You b-broke my heart..." He frowned, and I took his hands. I felt my heart shattering, and I knew what I had to do to make him smile. Let's just pray it works.
"Scotty.. Look at me." I stumbled over my words. Scott didn't. "Scott, please. Look at me." He finally did, and I felt my heart drop at his red, puffy eyes. "You know I love you more than anything. More than toast, more than my bunnies... I love you. And you know I want to marry you. If your offer is still out there.... I'd love to accept it."
Scott froze, his eyes snapping up to face me. Realization in 3..2..1.. "Wh-What..?"
"If your offer is still out there... I would love to marry you." I repeated, giving him a small smile. He blinked once. Twice. Three times. My smile faulted. "Scott..?"
"I.... You want to..." Scott looked down. I wasn't sure if he was smiling, but I heard more crying.
"Scotty, no.... Don't cry..." I whispered, leaning down a little and seeing a big smile on his face.
"Thank you.... Th-Thank you so much...." Scott gasped for air, letting his head look up and face me. I wiped his tears, feeling my own tears slip out of my eyes.
"You're welcome, sweetie.... Now, let's get you cleaned up, yeah?" I stand, helping him up and putting his arm around my shoulder. My arm snaked around his waist, and we headed off.
"I love you.... I l-love you, you know that..?" He told me, and we both smiled.
"I know, Scotty... I love you too..."
I took him home, fixing up his cuts. I kissed the bandages softly, looking up to him.
"Don't ever do this again.. Okay?" I asked, rolling down his sleeves. He nodded.
"I won't... I'm sorry.."
"Don't apologize, honey.... It's okay... As long as you promise you won't do it again..." I went and sat beside him, leaning on his shoulder.
"I promise..." He slipped his arm around me, and grabbed something from the table. The ring? He slipped it on my finger.
"Oh my.... It's more beautiful in person..."
"Thank you... I picked it just for you.."
I blushed, cuddling up to him. Making sure he was still there with me. I loved him more then anything...
