-Mikes POV-
I waved to my son was he got in Vince's car. Vincent and Scott had offered to take him for the weekend so Jeremy and I could have a date night. He would be safely returned on Monday, according to Scott.
I craned my neck to see Jeremy in one of my shirts and his panties, making lunch. He also sent off our son with a healthy snack, making sure to threaten Vince with the "if anything happens to my kid, you better pray your fiancé can bring people back from the dead because I will destroy you" I liked his attitude.
Walking over, I wrapped my arms around his waist and pulled him close. He gave a soft squeak before I watched him melt into my hold, and squeezed him tight.
"Hey Mikey..." Jeremy said softly, touching the side of my face before pulling it close to kiss it. "Lunch will be done s-soon, you like chicken, right?"
"I do... That's my favourite kinda sandwich, baby.." I smiled and returned the kiss softly. "I love your chicken sandwiches..."
"They love you too..." He smiled and turned around to have me press him against the counter, and he handed me a plate with a sandwich on it. I smiled and took it.
"Thanks, princess..." I kissed his hair.
"You just cleaned the kitchen, no?" He nodded to me. "Where should I eat, then?""K-Kitchen table, please." He motioned to the clean and wiped off table. I nodded and walked over to the table, sitting down. Jeremy came shortly after with two cups of juice, and placed on in front of me and one across from me. After he came back again with his own lunch, he sat in his chair.
"I put ranch on yours, I know you like w-weird stuff..." I smiled to him and reached over, holding his hand tightly.
"Thank you, beautiful. You know me so well."
We exchanged small kisses before we ate in relative silence. The cold breeze from the open window behind me rushed through our hair and chilled our skin. I made a point to slam that window when I closed it.
Jeremy flinched, but stayed silent as he nibbled at his sandwich. I was starving, so I nearly inhaled it. It was so fucking gooooddd~
I made a muffled noise. "Mm.. Your sandwich skills never fail to surprise me, Jeremiah."
"Thank you, love... I've been p-practicing." He smiled and finished up. Standing up, he took the dishes and went to the sink and rinsed the leaked BBQ and Ranch sauce that spilled onto our plates when we ate.
I smiled at him, walking over and hugging him tight again. He reached up and pat my face with his wet hands, making my nose wrinkle from the cold touch.
I reached over to my phone and turned on the screen. When Jeremy dried off his hands, I took the soft ones in my own and held him close,
So we could dance."If I could... begin to be...
Half of what you think of me..
I could do about anything.
I could even learn how to love..."
Jeremy's arms wrapped around my neck and mine snaked around his waist as we softly swayed.
"When I see the way you act...
Wondering when I'm coming back,
I could do about anything.
I could even learn how to love...
Like you."
He buried his face in my neck and I hid mine in his hair. He smelled so wonderful... Probably since he had a shower this morning.
"I always thought I might be bad.
Now I'm sure that its true.
'cause I think you're so good,
And I'm nothing like you..."
I heard him softly hum in my arms. The song played through the otherwise silent kitchen, and I loved every moment here with him.
"Look at you go!...
I just adore you...
I wish that I knew...
What makes you think I'm so special."
We both closed our eyes as our bodies pressed together. I gave him a small twirl and his beautiful giggle filled my ears when I pulled him close again.
"If I could begin to do,
Something that does right by you...
I would do about anything....
I would even learn how to love."
We smiled. Our bodies swayed to the music and I lifted him into my arms. He hugged my tightly.
"When I see the way you look..
Shaken by how long it took.
I could do about anything...
I could even learn how to love..
like
you..."
The song finished after moments of soft music. It faded into nothingness and the kitchen went quiet. We continued to sway in silence, mesmerized by the presence of eachother.
"I love you, Jeremiah."
"I love you too, Michael."
And at that moment, I never believed anything else. We smiled.. our lips brushed together for a lingering kiss, before we pulled away.
"Let's get ready, I'm taking you out to dinner right now..." I said to him. He smiled and nodded, and I put him down. He ran off to go get ready, and I picked up my phone again.
My soft voice began as I walked off. "If I could... begin to be..."
