*Aure's POV*
I was trying to sleep in the room that I shared with the Queen's maids. My tired eyes were fixed on the nearest window, staring at the dark space sky. While I was tossing and turning, trying to sleep, I noticed that Padmé wasn't in her bed. I stood up and silently, trying not to wake up anybody, got out of the room to find my friend.
As I was looking for Padmé, I heard two people talking in the common room. I followed their voices to find my best friend with the little Anakin. I stood by the doorway so they wouldn't see me. The kid handed her a wooden pendant.
"It's beautiful, but I don't need this to remember you," she whispered while looking at the gift. She continued "Many things will change when we reach the capital, Ani, but my caring for you will always remain." I smiled at her kindess. That was one of the many things that made her a great Queen.
"I care for you too, but I... miss..." Anakin tried to continue, but he was disturbed and there were tears in his eyes. The poor child missed his mother. I felt symphathy for him, we shared the same pain.
"...You miss your mother," Padmé finished for him. Padmé gave Anakin a long hug and left him when he eventuaally fell asleep on the couch a minute later.
I startled her with my voice when she was close enough. "Don't become too close to the boy, we will probably not see him in a long time after this is over," I warned her whispering so nobody would listen to us, in case someone else was awake.
"He misses his mother, he has nobody now, he needs a friend. You should know about that." When she said this, I remembered how she had always been there for me when we were younger and I fell alone, or when I wanted to lock myself in my room and cry on my birthday because my parents couldn't be there, or when I wanted to leave the army and just go back home but she convinced me otherwise.
"He will survive without her. He will soon realize that he needs no parents," I said coldly. She looked at me shocked. "Sorry, forget that... Master Qui-Gon wants him to become a Jedi, anyway. That means he will train for years, I guess in Coruscant, and Naboo is far away from there," I reminded her with my arms crossed.
After some silent seconds, she suddenly changed the topic of the conversation. "You should be sleeping." I understood she didn't want to talk about saying goodbye to the kid.
"So do you." She had no reply for that. "You can't sleep?" I asked concerned.
"No... My mind is full of thoughts. Naboo, the Federation, that person Qui-Gon fought..." She looked down, trying not to show the tears that started to fill her eyes. "I am not the Queen I'm supposed to be. I should be helping my people, but I'm pretending to be a servant, hiding."
"You're a great Queen and your people know that. That's why you're hiding, because your people need you alive." She looked up at me again when I said this. "We're going to Coruscant now and you'll talk with the Chancellor and senators, dressed as the Queen you are; and you'll convince them to help Naboo. I know that because you are a smart woman, you have studied for years for this and we all have faith in our Queen. The Federation can't do anything against Naboo as long as you're that Queen." I smiled when I saw her tears had disappeared. "Please, go to bed and try to sleep."
"You should sleep too," she replied. "Having a restless lifeguard wouldn't be useful." I laughed lightly at this and nodded.
I went back to bed, but sleep didn't come that night. My mind kept on thinking about everything: Naboo, Padmé, Anakin, Obi-Wan and whoever was after us now.

[Next morning]
We arrived at Coruscant early in the morning. I hadn't slept a bit, so I was still awake when the ship landed on the planet right in front of the Senate building, where Chancellor Valorum, senator Palpatine and some guards were already waiting for us. When we got out of the royal spaceship, we bowed before them.
Coruscant was new to me, so I looked around with curiosity while the Chancellor and the senator talked with the Queen and master Qui-Gon. I loved the tall buildings, the speeders flying around, the lights... It was very crowded and I wondered if it was always like that. Although it was beautiful in its own way, there was no sign of nature to be seen; no waterfalls and trees like the ones in Naboo. Nature was my favorite thing about my home planet. I enjoyed going for long walks at the beach or the hills when I had some free time; sometimes I'd go with Padmé and together we'd talk about anything. It was relaxing. That was until the Federation came. Since they arrived to our beautiful planet, I barely had the chance to leave the palace.
"Do you like Coruscant?" a voice said softly behind me. I didn't need to turn around to know it was Obi-Wan. We were away the group and nobody could listen to us. He waled a little closer to stand right next to me.
"It is impressive, although it is very different from Naboo," I replied, thinking about the hidden waterfall I found days after I moved to the capital city. It became my favorite place of the galaxy as soon as I saw it.
"The little time I spent in Naboo was enough for me to notice its beautiful landscapes," he commented, making me smile widely.
Wishing I was there, thinking of the wild birds' songs, I replied "Everything from Naboo is beautiful."
"It is, indeed..." he said with an even softer voice, while his hand barely touched mine; it was a simple brush on my skin, but enough to send a shiver along my spine. I turned my head to him and found him looking intensely at me with a small smile playing on his lips. Did he mean what I was thinking? I blushed and looked away to hide it.
Qui-Gon's voice behind me suddenly startled me. "The Queen and Anakin are leaving with senator Palpatine, they have much to talk about," he informed as he approached us.
"I should go with her, then," I replied after I recovered my composure. I had to stay with the Queen even though she wasn't the real one, just so nobody would suspect.
Qui-Gon nodded and added "I must speak with the Jedi Council immediately. The situation has become more complicated." His apprentice and I nodded at this, knowing that he was eferring to Anakin.
"I hope I'll see both of you later," I told the Jedi knights with a smile. Qui-Gon smiled back and walked away.
"Take care," Obi-Wan told me.
"You too." I wondered if I had to say something more. My eyes locked with his, which were filled with a spark of something I couldn't descibe. Time seemed to stop at that very moment, staring at his blue eyes while he looked back into mine. I felt like he was looking through my soul.
That was until Qui-Gon called out from the distance "Come on, Obi-Wan! You'll see her later!"
The man in front of me smiled apologetically at me, turned around and ran towards his master. It was then that I realized I had been holding my breath for a few seconds. What was he doing to me?
