Zoe's P.O.V
Today's the day. Me and Ariana find out if we both got into South Side Grammar! I don't know what I'd do without her, we've only been best friends for a year but she's all I have, and all I need.
My friendship group used to cause nothing but tears and trouble and she saved me from that. Not just that but we go together so well.. Like mangos and pineapples! She understands me like no one does and we have a crazy amount of stuff in common.
I knock on her door, it's early. 7am.
She opens it, gripping her letter the same way I'm gripping mine. They came last night but we agreed to wait til the morning and open them together.
She clearly just got up, she's in her Christmas pyjamas (it's the middle of April) and her shiny hair is up in a messy bun and I can't help but be jealous of how pretty she looks even though she's just woken up. I wish I could look like her... The prettiest girl in school. Ugh. No wonder the guys like her.
She counts us down before we open her letters. As soon as we see each other's schools, tears fill my eyes and Ariana is already wiping the tears that are spilling over her cheeks.. My hands shake as I throw my arms around her, shaking.
WE BOTH GOT IN!
The next five years are going to be me and her against the world.. Or at least secondary school and GCSEs! As she hugs me I notice she's starting to loose the bit of puppy fat she had. It's not as if she really needed to but still, good on her!
My smile is pretty much reaching my eyes as I wonder about the future ahead of us...
