- Dahvie's POV-
The video camera turned on and the screen showed a gray, damp looking room. All of a sudden, a teenaged girl came into view. She had medium length black hair that looked to be fading into brown. Her eyes were puffy and red, as though she had been crying. She was rubbing her hands together and her eye had a nervous tick. I couldn't tell what color her eyes were. She started talking but couldn't get any coherent words out.
"If you found this v-video t-then you are currently hiding or scavenging in my old h-house, my name is Scarlett, my whole family is dead and I need help", the girl wiped a tear from her face," I am heading to Los Angeles with a friend but I heard it was overrun, but there has to be some life, I have to find out"
There was a thump and the girl looked up, fear in her eyes. She blew a kiss to the camera and pulled on her backpack. She left the camera on so I could see her jump out the window and I saw myself enter the video. She had just left.
I turned the camera off and ran to the window. I saw the light from a flashlight in a house across the street. It caught the attention of one of the zombie people. They turned their head and started moving towards the house. The person stumbled onto the roof, one of the zombies right behind them. It was jayy, he grabbed for something to hit the zombie with. The dead thing was so close to him, ready to eat him. I grabbed the gun out of its holster on my belt and pointed it at the zombie. I was a good shot and it hit the zombie in the head. However, the noise attracted zombies by the hundreds, I was going to die. Jayy looked at me and shook his head.
"I wasnt worth it, goddamn it Dahvie, why did you do this, you're going to die", he was yelling from the other house. I saluted him and ran away from the window. I found the stairs that led to the roof. I could hear zombies breaking into downstairs. I shut the door behind me after making it upstairs and saw the girl I had seen in the video scoping something out with binoculars. She turned around with a gun in her hand. Upon seeing me she relaxed and dropped the gun.
"Dahvie Vanity, I never thought I would see you during a zombie apocalypse, you attracted those things, which means escaping is going to be a lot harder", she looked down at the zombies and I heard her take in a breath.
she waved at Jayy and he gave her a thumbs up and ran to the other side of the roof. She pulled out what looked like a grappling hook and threw it at the house Jayy was at. He grabbed it and tied it to one of the posts next to him. I got really nervous, she was going to make us climb across it. She tied the rope to another post, she then climbed onto the edge of the roof. She grabbed what looked like a rock climbing vest with a hook on it and threw it to me.
"put it on and watch me cross, its harder than it looks but its the only way we will make it"
I did what she said and watched carefully. The hook was connected to the rope in case she fell. She crawled across it like you see the people do in the movies. She used her legs more than her arms. She finally reached the other house and motioned for me to cross. My hands were shaking, but it was either die or don't die. I put the hook on the rope and began to cross. The door to the roof I was just at burst open and dozens of zombies pooled out. I could hear them behind me, reaching for me. A few of them jumped off of the roof in their attempt to get me, but I was moving fast. It felt like seconds before I was on the other roof, in the arms of my best friend, crying like I hadn't ever before.
