After that, Heracles decided to meet back up with Esmeralda, Yolanda, Sebastian, and Petros at a tavern in a city near the sea. As soon as Heracles walked in, Esmeralda stood up and walked over to him.
"Well?" she asked.
Heracles shook his head. "No. I'm sorry. I can't do this alone..."
Everybody then decided to sit down and have a drink.
"Then what do we do?" Yolanda asked.
Petros looked up. "What if we called on other heroes to help us?"
~~~~
"We need a list of heroes!" Esmeralda said frantically up in their room. "We should-we should call Perseus!"
"He's dead," Heracles said. "He's been dead. He's my great-grandfather."
Esmeralda stared at Heracles. "Well shit."
"It's okay! It's okay!" Yolanda said quickly. "We have others! Uhh... Oo! Theseus! Is he still alive?"
Heracles frowned. "Possibly. I haven't heard of his death. You would hear of a death that major."
"Okay..." Sebastian said, thinking. "Atalanta? She still at work?"
"Yes. She is."
"What about Orpheus?" Petros said. "I mean, he's not the greatest hero, but he still could be useful."
"Yes, he's alive too."
"Oo!" Esmeralda said. "The Amazons! They're pretty great!"
"No!" Heracles said quickly. "No. Um... I have some history with the Amazons...still don't know if they've recovered."
"Well, alright," Esmeralda said.
"But!" Heracles said. "I have forty-seven other guys that could help us!"
"Forty-seven?" Yolanda asked. "Ho-how?"
Heracles smirked. "We call ourselves the Argonauts."
Heracles wrote letters to all of the major heroes that he could think of that were still alive. "And now we wait," he said after he sent the last letter.
They waited until the next day for most of the replies. It was expected, however. This was usually how fast things traveled.
Esmeralda woke up, and saw a woman in her room.
"Hello?" Esmeralda said groggily as she sat up in the bed. "Can I help you?"
"My apologies, Miss Xanthis," the woman said, "but..." She gave Esmeralda a bag. "These letters came for you this morning."
Esmeralda nodded. "Okay. Thank you."
The woman smiled before leaving and closing the door behind her.
Yolanda then woke up as Esmeralda opened the first letter. "Hey," she said groggily as she shifted her position. "What's that?"
"Letters," Esmeralda answered. "From the heroes. This one's from Atalanta."
Yolanda nodded. "Okay. Cool." She sat up and leaned on Esmerlada's back with her chest. "What's it say?"
Esmeralda smiled, partly because of Yolanda touching her and partly because of the letter. "She said she'll come... I just hope the others do too."
~~~~
Down in the tavern part of the inn, Esmeralda, Yolanda, Sebatian, Petros, and Heracles read the letters from the heroes. All of them said that they could come.
