That night everybody returned to their tents. Everyone had a different view on what they thought of the spell.
"It might not have even worked," Petros said to Sebastian. "How do we know that their gods are to be trusted?"
"They trust their gods," Sebastian said.
"Yeah, but to them it doesn't matter. If things go bad they can just go home! This is our home!"
Sebastian sighed as he walked over to Petros, who was sitting on the bed. Sebastian sat next to Petros. "I understand what you mean. Really, I get it. But...I have a feeling it worked... It's hard to explain... I got a warm sensation in my chest..."
Petros looked at Sebastian. "So did I... At first I thought maybe it worked... But the more I thought the more doubts I had..."
"Try not to think so much, then."
"That's not as easy as it sounds, love."
"I know. But still." Sebastian kissed Petros's cheeks. "Thinking will just get you stressing. If this is your last night I doubt you want to do it stressing."
Petros nodded. "You're right... I know what I do want to do, though. And it'll probably get me thinking less."
"Oh yeah? What's that?"
Petros kissed Sebastian, his hand going on his neck. Sebastian kissed him back. Petros then laid Sebastian down as he was on top of him.
"Works for me," Sebastian said with a smile. Petros smiled back before kissing him again.

Esmeralda sighed. "I feel like it worked."
Yolanda was changing into her nighttime clothes as Esmeralda said this. "Yeah?"
"Yeah... I dunno. I felt a feeling in my chest... It could've actually worked..."
Yolanda shrugged. "I'm indifferent about it. I wouldn't be surprised one way or the other about it, you know?"
"Yeah... Hey, so..." Esmeralda sighed, looking away from Yolanda. "Never mind. I don't wanna keep pestering you."
Yolanda frowned. "What?"
Esmeralda looked at Yolanda. She couldn't help but stare at her eyes. She could get lost in the swirling blue forever...
It was at that moment that Esmeralda realized that blue was her favorite color.
"Essy?"
Esmerlada blinked. She hadn't realized she'd been staring.
Yolanda was looking at her with wide eyes. "Are you okay?"
Esmeralda took a deep breath. "Landa..." She smiled. "Madeline."
Yolanda couldn't help but chuckle at that.
Esmerlada's heart fluttered in her chest. "Um... I know I keep mentioning this. But...if we're going to fight Titania tomorrow and try to end things... I dunno. It just sort of feels like...if our prayer to Macha didn't work...it could be our last night on Earth."
Yolanda nodded slowly. "Yeah. I hadn't thought of that..."
"Yeah... So..." Esmeralda sighed. "I know I keep saying it...but if it really is our last night...I especially want you to know that...I love you. I'm in love with you. I...care about you so much. And I don't care that you don't want to be together. As long as you're in my life...I don't care..." A tear fell down her cheek.
Yolanda put her hand on her mouth as her own eyes welled up with tears. "Oh, Es..." She took a shaky breath. "You don't know how bad I just wanna..." Her voice faltered. "I just... I want to. But I...I can't... I can't..." She sat down on the bed and put her head down.
