Chapter 36: The End of This

Esmeralda was still crying over Titania's body when she felt somebody touch her shoulder.

"Essie?"

Esmeralda turned and looked. Yolanda was now kneeling next to her. "Are you okay?"

Esmeralda opened her mouth. She meant to speak but only a squeak came out. She closed her mouth tightly and closed her eyes. She started crying even more.

Yolanda wrapped her arms around Esmeralda. "It's gonna be okay," she said as Esmeralda started crying into her chest.

Esmeralda winced. "Ow," she sat up and grabbed her stomach.

Yolanda frowned. "What's wrong?"

Esmeralda shook her head. "It's fine. Titania stabbed me."

Yolanda's eyes widened. "I forgot she did that."

"Yeah..." Esmeralda looked down at her hand. "It's still bleeding."

"Then you need a doctor!"

"Wait," Esmeralda said as Yolanda went to grab her arms to pull her up. "I want to..." She looked at Titania. "I want to stay here a moment longer..."

Yolanda nodded. "Okay..."

They stayed there a moment. Esmeralda closed her eyes and put her head down. Every once in a while a tear would fall from her face onto Titania's body. Yolanda kept her arms around Esmeralda and hugged her tighter every time she saw tears fall.

"Hey," Yolanda said. "So...I saw you. While I was fighting. I saw you talk to Titania and how you two started fighting... I saw her stab you. I thought you were going to die... Sebastian stopped me. Had me wait and see how it would go... When I saw you...kill her...I knew I couldn't stand by anymore... I didn't want you to be sad and alone. I don't want you to die..."

"I'm not going to die from a little blood, Yolanda..."

"I know... But just in case, let's get you out of here. I'll finish what I'm saying there." Yolanda stood up and offered Esmeralda a hand.

Esmeralda smiled. "Fine, but you better promise you'll finish what you're saying."

Yolanda smiled. "Definitely."

Esmeralda took Yolanda's hand and stood up. After she stood she froze. Yolanda looked where she was looking and saw Titania's second in command, Andreas, walking towards them.

"I..." Esmeralda began. "I tried to stop her..."

Andreas sighed. "I know..." He looked down at Titania's dead body. He gave himself a minute to cry.

Esmeralda and Yolanda used this opportunity to go to a doctor. The fighting was still going on so they had to go around to go to a tent near Atalanta.

Esmeralda laid down on the cot inside. "Is there a doctor we can get to?"

Yolanda grabbed some of the supplies nearby. "Atalanta showed me how to fix a stab wound. I can fix you up... I want Atalanta to double check later, though."

Esmeralda nodded. "That's fair." She relaxed her head and closed her eyes. She took a deep breath and when she exhaled she relaxed her whole body.

Yolanda cleaned Esmeralda of the blood and put pressure on the wound. When it was all cleaned up she took a look at the wound.

"Ow," Esmeralda said through gritted teeth.

"Sorry," Yolanda said.

"ENOUGH!" they heard Andreas yell. "TITANIA IS DEAD! AS YOUR COMMANDING OFFICER I DEMAND YOH STAND DOWN! NOW! GET ALL THE WOUNDED HEALED! WE'LL TALK MORE ON THIS LATER!"
