Rain

The person that came to my house, I did not know. She was a different woman, a different person. Every now and then, I would see little sparks of who she used to be. Little sparks of who she is inside. If you guessed that the person was my mom, you guessed correct.
In my woods, I saw Mouse grazing near my favorite climbing tree. "Mouse! Come here boy!" I called. He perked his ears up at my voice and trotted over to me. "Hi pretty boy!" I said, petting his silky fur. I stood on a near by rock and jumped up onto his back. "Come on." I said as I tugged his mane to the left. He turned left and began cantering over logs and rocks.
Before I knew it, I was in the comfort of the little hang over or cave. So was Mouse. The sky had kind of been dark all day but I hadn't really noticed it until it started to sprinkle. Then it started to rain. "I guess we're not going anywhere soon, Mouse!" I said. Mouse wined softly and stomped his hoof. "It's not that bad! I kind of do like the rain." I reassured him. I walked to the edge of the cave's entrance and watched the rain fall. Clear little droplets. As one hit the ground, another took it's place of falling from the sky. I remember one other day when it was raining. I was watching the rain fall with my mom, '"The gods are sad today." She had said. "But why would they be sad?" I asked her, "they have everything in the whole wide world!" "Sometimes," she said, " you just need one thing to be happy.  Just one little thing can change the whole course of your day, can change the whole course of your world!" she whispered "one little thing...like your dad."'
"Like my dad." I whispered softly to the rain.

"Not a time to be sad" I told myself "I have to go see mo-. No, not mom, mom Liliah." I said. Mouse grunted and moved over to me so that I could hop on to his back. He carried me back through the forest even though it was raining. "Go back home Mouse!" I said to him and he galloped off. "Ok!" I said to my self, "be strong and don't show any emotion! You don't miss Liliah in her life. You only care about dad!" I crossed the field and pressed my ear against the back door before entering.
"You can't blame her!" My aunt said, "she is a child and she is hurt! She hardly even knows her parents and cries your name in her sleep! I just don't understand why you needed to leave!" I heard Aunt Lorie walk around a bit. "You know why! You know what I've been through. You know why I had to do this. It was not because of her. I needed my own time, to clear my head and remember who I am inside! You can not take my child away from me!" My mother said. "You can not just show up and demand to see her! She'll be back any minute and I don't want her to see us fighting so...just don't say anything until she is ready! Okay?" My mother didn't answer. "Okay?!" Aunt Lorie said louder this time. "Okay!" My mother said. I waited a while then came through the front door. Soaked from head to toe. "Would you like a towel dear?" My mother asked. "Yes. Yes I would. Aunt Lorie!" I called. I could tell my mother was expecting me to ask her for a towel. I could tell it really stung my mom. She sat there for a while then all of a sudden jumped up and said, "I'm trying as hard as I can. I want us to be like we were before. I want us to become a family again but two of us have to agree. We have to work together. Please let me try to help you! Please let me try. Please!" Her eyes became glossy. "Your right!" I yelled at her. "Two people have to agree! Two! And you ruined that when you left me alone and scared! You just left me to figure everything out everything on my own and-" "And that was wrong of me! And I am sorry!" She said. She opened up her arms and I hesitated but then ran in to them. "And I am sorry too." I whispered through the sobs.
Everybody needs a little love and little hate to make it all work out in the end.
