I sprinted as fast as I could towards the forest while cussing.
"No! No! No! No! No!" I said as I crossed the river. I ran and ran and ran around the forest. I felt like I was going in circles. It was beginning to get really dark. By now, it was probably around 7:30 and I didn't know what to do. Do I report a missing person...No because no one gives a damn about Brynn Canton. No one except me. Besides, she hasn't been been gone for 24 hours...yet.
I ran my hand through my hair. "Think! Think!" I told myself. Okay! Did she give you a sign she was leaving?
"No."
Did she give you a reason she was leaving?
"No."
Did anything happen before she left that would give you a clue on where she is?
"No. Well, not that I know of...THEN WHERE THE HELL IS SHE?!" I yelled at the forest. I hit my fist against a near by tree. I can see why she finds hitting these trees so soothing. I relaxed a little but not enough.
I was able to hold myself back from hitting anymore trees after that. Now it was really dark and I was guessing it was around 8:30. I started to walk back the way I came, not giving up by calling Brynn's name. I walked and walked. "Wow! I didn't think I was this deep in the forest!" I mumbled to myself. I walked for a little while longer and finally realized I might be walking the wrong way!
"Oh shit!" I said aloud. "I'm gonna fricken be here all night!" I stumbled back the other way over fallen trees and rocks and bushes. I fell a few times but not to bad.
After a while of walking all directions and cussing I ran right into a huge black figure that knocked me right over! "What the hell?!" I said getting up. I heard a snort and bark. "MOUSE! KITTEN! Where's Brynn?!" I asked. I looked around them on the ground, feeling mostly with my hands. Finally I felt a body. "BRYNN?!" I said picking her up. "BRYNN?! BRYNN?! WAKE UP!" I screamed. She layed still in my arms. "MOUSE, KITTEN TAKE US HOME!" I said jumping onto Mouse. Kitten followed behind us on the ground as Mouse carried us home. "Stay with me Brynn! Okay?! Stay with me please! I don't know what is wrong with you now but you just have to hold on!" I told her.

In my house, I laid Brynn down on a bed and felt her pulse. "That's good!" I said, feeling a heart beat. I already knew there was something wrong with her head because it was bleeding. I called 9-1-1 and they quickly got her to the hospital. I had a feeling she was going to be okay despite her being unconscious.

Brynn's pov

I woke up in an unfamiliar place. "HELP! HELP! HELP ME!" I screamed. Three people dressed in blue ran in.
"It's okay! It's okay! You are in a hospital because you hit your head on something and you have a concussion. Let's go ahead and test your memory. Okay?"
I shook my head, no. "We have to check your memory to see how long you need to stay here!" Another nurse spoke more sternly than the first one.
"I'm fine!" I scowled.
"What is your name?!" A nurse asked. I didn't answer.
"Listen! If you don't answer then we are going to have to take a brain scan and you will be here five days at the least, depending on the results! So I suggest you answer my question!" The second nurse warned. "I'm. Fine! I don't need to go in for some stupid brain scan and I defiantly have the right to remain SILENT!" I argued. The nurses sighed. "Able to compute and interact in conversations." the first nurse said, checking off a box on a sheet of paper.
"Brynn Canton..." I mumbled. I wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. All three nurses perked up. "What was that?!"
"I said, Brynn Canton!..That's my name!" I went throughout the rest of the questions without a problem.
"Okay! Last question! What happened when you were injured?" The nurse asked. "I uhhh...Well what happened was that...ummm well I was..." I couldn't remember. But I had to!
"I was riding a horse...and uhhh then I uhhh...I was on the ground...and I hit my head!" I said proudly. I was happy that I got the question and was able to leave this hell. YAY! "Alright Miss. Canton, you are free to go!"
Hunter took me home in my hospital cloths and we ate breakfast in silence. I had been at the hospital all night and Hunter waited for me that whole entire time!
"You-You saved my life." I said quietly in between bites of eggs. "Yeah." He answered. "Th-Thanks."
"Yeah." he answered in the same tone. We sat, once again, in silence. There was a tension in the room that I didn't like and didn't want there to be. Hunter was usually so nice and I didn't know what was up! "Hey! What's wrong with you?!" I finally asked, sounding more mad than what I intended. "Excuse me?! But I'm not the one who ran away and got herself knocked out with no fricken explanation or reason!" He snapped. I didn't say anything. "That's what I thought!" Hunter said. "I had a reason!" I mumbled. "What was that?!"
"I had a reason!" This time I said it, I was almost yelling. "Really?! Because I would like to hear that reason!" challenged Hunter. I walked over to the clothes I had on when I entered to hospital. (The nurses had handed me all my belongings on my way out.) I pulled the first note out of my pocket and walked back to the table. I handed Hunter the note and he raised one eyebrow. As he began reading, I said, "I'm the reason my mother left! It was me! I cause her and myself so much pain without even knowing it! I ruined my childhood! I upset my family! It was me! All me!" I began crying. Hunter finished the note and saw my tears. "I'm sorry! Please tell me next time!" He pulled me into his chest. "I can help you, I promise!" he said. "It is not your fault! Not at all! It is your mothers! It is your family's problem that had nothing to do with you! Your mom should have never ever written about you like this! It is wrong!" I slowly began to stop crying. I decided to save the other note for another time. "Now, can you promise me you will never hurt your-your beautiful body ever again?! There is no need to ever repeat history!"
He called me beautiful. I nodded my head, yes, and smiled. Hunter engulfed me in a warm hug and I felt really safe for the first time in a long time.
