Later That Night
I sat down on the couch with a bowl of soup in front of me. Hunter sat down next to me and grabbed the remote to turn on the TV. "Wait!" I said, reaching for the remote but Hunter pulled it away playfully. "What?" he asked. We both still hadn't even touched either bowls of soup. "I-I wanted to ask you something, it's about earlier..." Hunter gave me a look saying everything he was thinking. I let out a soft chuckle. "No, no, it's not about that it's just,...do-do you think I'm beau..." I trailed off, to embarrassed to finish. "What did you just say. Sorry, I didn't catch that." He said as he finally picked up his soup and slurping it off of the spoon. "Beautiful! Do you really think that I'm beautiful?" Hunter immediately stopped slurping and had to set his bowl down. For a second, I thought that he was going to drop the bowl or spit out his soup all over the bowl.
"I-I'm sorry," I said turning bright red. "I-I don't know what I was thinking. I just thought that...I don't, know just forget it!" I said begging to get up.
Hunter stood there silently. "Wait!" he said, looking up at me. I stopped at sat back down. "I-I..." he paused. "I think that you, I think that you are really pretty..." I sat there, on the couch, dumbfounded. He looked at me with an embarrassed face.
"I-I think that you have beautiful eyes, an-and a beautiful voice, and hair. I think that you are funny, and nice, and spectacular!!" A smile grew across Hunters face as he said all of this. "I-I love your perfect imperfections and I am always happy when I am with you!"
Wow...I had no idea that he thought about me in this way...I wasn't really sure how I felt about him though. He was nice and handsome and funny, but I had never looked at him as a boyfriend figure...I guess I always thought that he was cute but just really had never had the time to admire him as a boyfriend. Now, as he was telling me all of this and his green eyes are filled with all sorts of emotions and his blonde hair is perfectly messed up. Now. Now is the time that I can finally look at him like a boyfriend and not just a best friend.
"Brynn, I-I think that I-I might...might l-love y-you!" He stumbled over his words as he said this, as if he was unsure. "W-What...?" I asked, stunned. He looked away, obliviously embarrassed. Then it hit me how cute he looked when he stared at me, waiting for an answer and then looking away quickly. I smiled and snickered. Hunter instantly looked back at me. He saw my smile. The smile he made could not have been expressed in words. It was cute and unsure like a baby horse. "I-I said," Hunter began, this time with loads more courage, "I-I think I might, might love you!" He smile got bigger. "Brynn, I think I love you!" His face lit up. I smiled again. I starred at his perfectness and bit my lip. I could tell Hunter was going crazy in his mind. "I-I don't know what to say...I-I've never even had a boyfriend." When I said this, Hunter but his lip too. "So-So that means, means that you, and me, could be," he said practically screaming from excitement. "Together." I finished for him. He jumped out of his seat and pumped his fists in the air. It was quite adorable to see him so easily excited when usually he is naturally calmer.
Hunter calmed himself and said with the most confidence I had ever heard, "Brynn," He stated, as excited as ever. "Will you. Go on. A date. With me." I had to turn away to hide the huge smile that was tugging on my lips. I turned back to Hunter, "Well, will there be tacos?"
"Yes, many, many tacos!" Hunter said, seriously.
"Then...Absolutely!"
Hunter practically screamed, 'YES' and picked me up off of the couch. He spun me around the room in his arms and set me down only to avoid hurting my ears from screaming, "SHE SAID YES!" By the way Hunter was acting, one would have guessed that I said I was going to save the world by his side. It was pretty cute. He was pretty cute. He's always been pretty cute. I have always thought that in the back of my mind and I was just now realizing it. Wow!
