My mom left a few days ago and while I was feeding the cows, I noticed a big white moving van. I finished up with my chores then ran inside. "Aunt Lorie?" I said, "Are we moving?" Aunt Lorie ran downstairs in her bathrobe. "Oh heavens no sweetheart! What makes you think so?" I turned and opened the back door. "Oh nothing I just thought that...never mind." I shooed an imaginary fly and ran across the field, this time, not to the forest. I ran to the van.
"How are y'all doing?" I said as friendly as possible. "Hi." Said a males voice from behind the van. "I live next door! Would y'all like to over for some food later this week?"
The person came around the side of the van. He was holding two heavy looking boxes. He stopped.
"Sure." He grinned. "Could I-uh catch your name?" He asked, looking at the ground. "Brynn and you are..." "Hunter" he said.
He had green eyes and blonde hair that was kind of shaped like a mohawk in the front. A red jacket hung from his shoulders and he was wearing blue jeans and black shoes. "So I'll see you later." He smiled.

That's how we met. Me and Hunter. We have been friends...or maybe a little more for 2 years or so. We always hang out. He has never been to my woods before and I don't plan on showing him anytime soon.

I woke up extra early so I could surprise my Aunt Lorie with breakfast-in-bed on Mother's Day. My real mother, however, did not bother to arrive...not that I wanted her here either. I got dressed and made us both breakfast. I walked up to her bedside quietly and set the food on the table. I put my hand on her forehead-as I usually wake her-and noticed it was extremely hot. "Aunt Lorie?! Do you feel okay?!" She didn't move. "Aunt Lorie? Aunt Lorie?! Aunt Lorie! Wake up!" My eyes were starting to let out some tears and my hands began to quiver as I checked her pulse. I felt like I was going to puke! "No! No no no no no!" I screamed. I dialed '9-1-1' and was answered by a woman. "Oh my God! My Aunt needs help immediately!" I said into the phone. I didn't give her the chance to give an introduction. "What's the emergency." She said calmly. "My Aunts not waking up and she doesn't have a pulse!"
"Okay. Okay. What is your address?" I gave her the address and hung up. "Okay. It's okay. We are all alright! It's okay! It's okay. It's o-...no! ITS NOT OKAY! My aunt is dead!!" I yelled.
The ambulance arrived and left me in the dust! I ran to my woods!
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?! STOP! STOP! STOP!" I screamed and started pounding the same tree I pounded when my mother left. "FUCK THIS WORLD! FUCK IT!" I couldn't refrain! I hit the tree all night. In the morning, I looked and my hands. Blood was everywhere. I could see my bones. My fingers were like crooked, bloody, bony, disfigured, things. I walked slowly back to the house. A few hours later, I walked to Hunters house. I kicked the door with my foot because of the condition of my hands. Hunter answered the door in his pajamas. He didn't have any parents here. He came here for his first year is collage. He was able to do independent studies for half the year.
"Hey! What are you do-oh my God! Are you okay?! What happened?!" He said reaching towards me. I pulled away. "Don't touch me!" I snapped. I couldn't imagine the stage I was in. Bloody, messy, dirty, with tear stained cheeks, and puffy, red eyes. "I need a ride!"
In the car, Hunter tried to get me to tell him what had happened last night. I refused, stubbornly.
When we arrived at the hospital Hunter said, "I'm coming in with you!" "No! This is my problem!" I answered. "Brynn, you can't stop me no matter what you say!"
"Suit yourself!" I said as I exited the car and walked into the hospital. Where my aunt is.
