Chapter 19

Minori's POV

"I am sorry that you felt this way. But, I don't ever regret my decision of lying to her just for her to continue staying here. It's time that she remembered."

That was the first thing that I heard when I was about to step foot into Cheonwu's tent.

It was a voice that was familiar to me, in fact one that I have been hearing for the past ten years of my life.

Trish's voice sounded out in a resolute and determined tone-a clear indication of her strong will in believing that whatever that she was saying was right.

The hand that was raised, ready to push the flap of the tent that seperated us suddenly faltered as I paused in my tracks.

What exactly did Trish lie about to me? How is she connected to this giant puzzle that has been surrounding us?

I suddenly came to the realisation that there was too much I did not know about.

Was I really ready to enter the tent and find the answer to this mystery?

Perhaps it is better to leave things as they are.

A little voice sounded out in my head as strange apprehension overwhelmed me.

But, was I really ready to just leave things as they are and continue living in confusion with...with...with Kame ?
The strange tugging of my heartstrings, the abnormal feelings that I felt towards him, the fragemented images in my head(were they hallucinations or real memories?) and that hurt, betrayal and perhaps jealousy that I felt when I heard what he said.

I think I would go crazy if I were to leave things as they were without finding the truth behind all of these.

It is time I figured all of these out and put an end to this.

And so, with a deep breath, I took the deciding step into the tent.

"What do I have to remember ? Or rather, what was it that I have forgotten about ? " the words left my lips as I stared at the two of them that froze in my presence.

It was actually a rather comical scene, with the identical way in which their eyes were opened as wide as saucers and the close proximity they were from each other.

Cheonwu's usually impeccable white suit that he had on was slightly disheveled and crumpled. If you looked closely enough, you would have been able to see small imprints on his white tunic that resembled finger marks. Trish's face was also flushed red with what could have passed off as a blush.

Had I not heard their conversation outside the tent, I would have thought that the two of them were having a secret rendezvous, just from their appearance.

Come to think of it, didn't Kame tell me that they have been meeting up quite often ?

"Minori! What a surprise ! I wasn't expecting you here." Cheonwu finished with a nervous laugh, preventing any further speculation on the relationship between the two of them.

Taking a step towards me, he smoothed his garment before continuing, " so what brings you here Minori ?"

"Yeah, Minori, what brings you to the humble abode of the great Cheonwu?" Trish asked jokingly as she slung her arms around me, in what appeared to be an attempt to regain normalcy .

"What do I have to remember ? Or rather, what was it that I have forgotten about ?" I repeated my question as I gently pushed Trish's arm off my shoulder so that I was facing the two of them.
