Note: Hello! my name is Penny Musick, I am exactly right now, or now a second ago or million years ago writing this. I have NO IDEA what I'm going to do, but bare with me friend. Please stay and try and read all of this. I hope you enjoy! Now start!
I lean back in my torn and withered chair while I stare at my little pile of coins and ripped dollars in front of me. I think and think,
"How will I get more money?" I rub my giant forehead that hides underneath my fluffy bangs, (or what ever it is,) I pick up my money and stuff it in leather wallet and walk into the kitchen.
Once my bare feet touched the poor flooring of my kitchen, I noticed a little cockroach had skittered across the floor. With my cat like reflexes, I quickly jumped on the counter, and grabbed the newspaper that I had read the other day, (Yea I read the newspaper, also I'm only 23) and with all my might, threw the newspaper right at it. I heard it squish under the paper, and made a gross face. I cleaned up the cockroaches guts, and flushed it down the toilet.
With a sigh of relief, I then again remembered about me needing money. So I walked towards the front door and slid on my high tops.
Where I had lived was a crumby part of New York, like, the ghetto almost like part. I had lived in a apartment for a year now, and I could barley even pay for it. I don't even have a job. How do I even pay for this shit hole? Well, my parents were filthy rich, they owned a company and made millions of dollars a year. I couldn't graduate, so my stinky parents decided to ditch me and made me live on my own. What great parents I have, am I right? Any way, they pay for half of it, and I pay for the other half. But right now, Iv'e been having a lot of problems trying to do my part.
As I stepped out into the gray shady world, I saw how the sun was just about gone. I pulled out my phone and looked at the time, "7: 24," Its already been about a full day, and I'm going out at this time? I thought to my self. stuffed my phone and hands into my hoodies pockets, and continued down the side walk.
As I was walking, every thing seemed usual, people literally every where, and the sounds of the honking traffic. Which was really a every day thing.
I made a right turn into an alley way, and made through quite quickly. Normally, their would be cats jumping around the dumpster that was there right when you enter, but instead there were nothing but pidgins.
I made my way out, and crossed the street, to the other sided. Their was a big crowd going the opposite direction I was going, but I risked it, and went into the large mob. I slipped through the mob, but still had troubled seeing where in the world I was going. I looked to my left and saw a alley way, and decided that I should jump out there. I slowly made my way over to the entrance and managed to squeeze through. I was sweating, and could feel drip down my forehead. I looked up, and saw a cat. The cat had was sitting on top of a trash can, and had a cherry red coat, with a big black patch of fluff on its neck, going down to its stomach.
"Meow," It looked up at me with its bored gray eyes, and licked its paw.
I can't stand stand cats unless I get to pet one. I really loved cats, yet my parents never did let me have a pet except for a useless hamster, (not that there bad or anything, just that all they do is climb through tubes and shit.)
The cat hopped down off the trash, and looked back at me and just waited. It looked like it was waiting for me. It then continued down into the alley way, and of course I followed after it.
I could barley see cause of how late it was, so once again I pulled out my phone and turned on the flash light so I could see where the cat was going.
I noticed how when I was following it, it kept taking a half second and looked at me when we had turned the sharp corners in the alley way. The cat then jumped up on a dumpster, and hopped on top of another one across from it, that was raised a little higher. I don't know why, but I clumsily climbed up on top, and made it up on the roof where the cat had gone up to. When I had finally made it to the very top, the cat was sitting with it's back turned to me.
"Meow," It turned its head towards me, and walked over to me. It was pawing at legs, almost as if it wanted me to sit over where he was.
I walked over and sat down, and let my legs dangle of the edge of the roof. The cat had slid his head through my arms and laid there for a moment. I used my other arm to rub his ears, they felt so soothing and soft. I've never felt a cats fur, it was so warm and felt like a small fire was lying in my lap. I soon had began to fall asleep, but before that, I hadn't even noticed my phone was going off.
Sorry this chapter is so short! I really don't like making things short going to fast, but hopefully I'll do better in the next chapter!
