The girl headed out into the streets of Rosewood with a box of her items in her arms and it wasn't soon until she was tripping over and they were all on the floor.
"Hey!" Hanna turned to look at the familiar face coming over to greet her and she couldn't be more embarrassed if she had even tried.
"I- Sorry." The girl pushed her hair behind her ears quickly trying to pick her things up.
"Here let me help you." The man was charming at the least being able to get things done a lot quicker than Hanna.
"Thank you...I'm Hanna. Hanna Marin." The girl said as she placed the box in her arms regaining her balance.
"Caleb Rivers, nice to finally speak to you Hanna."
This man wasn't a stranger but he wasn't a friend either so why did he have the ability to make the girl blush so much? The girl was pulled out of her thoughts when Caleb was picking up two last items from the floor.
"You have a list of things you wanted to achieve this year?"
Hanna wanted to walk away now and forget this all happened but she seemed to be gravitating towards this man.
"Yes, it's stupid I know."
"And you also have tickets to the Hastings party? You do have quite a life don't you Miss Marin?"
Resting the box on the shoulder the girl reached over and pulled the items away from Caleb.
"It's nothing."
"Let me help you."
"Why would you want to help me?" Hanna asked confused as she walked to her car placing the box in the boot, Caleb following quickly behind.
"Because I've spent the last two years wanting to be more than a hello to you.""You can't carry on like this Ezra, New Year's Eve is a time to celebrate not just close yourself in this apartment." Emily lingered at the door as the man just sat on the couch like every other day.
"Is just another day of the year Emily, no need to celebrate anything."
Emily glanced over to her apartment door making sure she had shut it properly then headed into Ezra's.
"This is about her isn't it?" Emily took the seat next to Ezra as he just proceeded to sip his beer.
"I don't know who you're talking about."
"Aria."
The silence was uncomfortable and Emily felt slightly out of her boundaries when it came to Aria. Even though they had been friends what seemed like a lifetime ago what she had with Ezra was so much more. Many years ago Aria kissed the man when the clock struck midnight but left him there. She carried on with her life but without even a proper goodbye Ezra wasn't able to do so.
"There are so many other girls Ezra."
"But none like her."
In Ezra's mind Aria was nothing but perfection. Aria was the only person that could truly touch both his heart and soul at the same time. She was the only one who he could say he truly loved. Even though she was the only thing he could picture in his mind it was the image he wanted to erase every single day.
He remembered having that ring in his back pocket and he remembered her tear stained eyes when she kissed him goodbye.
He would never be able to smile on that night ever again. Please tell me what you think of this story so far!
