Terrible Past

**Lacey's POV**

Dancing while I was drunk and suddenly I was pushed by someone on the grass beside but all I heard was...

**Bang**

As I turned, I saw Kevin was sleeping on the road. But something happened. Blood was oozing out of his head.

I need to get into my senses.

As I slapped myself, I studied the scene. A car went by. Kevin pushed me. Got hit by it.

Hit!

I quickly ran towards him and held his hand. His eyes were still open. Searching someone and locked the eyes on me. He smiled but as the smile was fading gradually, I said,

"Its okay! Everything will be fine. Keep your eyes open!"

But he fail to do as followed and I cried harder and hugged him tight.

Ambulance was here and they quickly put him into it by laying him on the stretcher. I sat with him still holding his hand. Tears running down which I didn't bother to rub it out.

"Inform his parents! This may be serious." the doctor in the van informed.

I quickly searched for his phone. He doesn't put a lock on it. I pulled out the contact list and pressed call on Mom.

After few seconds a voice spoke,"Hello!"

"May I speak to Kevin's mother?" I knew that I was speaking to the right person but still, formality matters.

"Yaa speaking! May I know who's on the line?" hearing this beautiful lines from a mother I began to cry.

"Your son, Kevin met an accident. *sob* He is taken to the Central hospital for treatment. *sob* He looks serious." I somehow let the words out but couldn't guess her reaction.

"I-I'll b-be there!" she somehow managed to speak and hung up.

As I came back on the home screen I noticed my picture as wallpaper.

What the hell? From where did he got my picture?

In it I was laughing. I looked cute. Wait! Why did he click it? I quickly swipe his phone to gallary. There was a separate folder named '<3'. And there were about hundred such pics. All captured secretly.

Did he...? No, not possible! But still... He can...!

I was totally confused. As I touched the back button I clicked on 'Camera' Folder by chance. As I was turning back I saw a very wierd picture. I clicked it and enlarged it. It showed that someone was making out and it was taken secretly as I can see the door at the corner of the picture.

I zoomed in further and....

Kiara!!! And with her is.... Darwin!!!

Before I could react the ambulance reached the hospital and I kept the phone in my pocket. We reached second floor and he was taken in the operation theater. I sat on the bench outside with tears flooding down my eyes. It was my mistake. If I wasn't the drunk one, Kevin would be safe.

"I hate myself. I hat-" and I struggled to get up while I saw Jenny standing there looking at me.

"Don't curse yourself. It was an accident." she said as I hugged her harder.

Soon I remembered about the picture. I pulled away and took out his phone. I plucked the picture out and shown it to Ben and Jenny.

"Do you know anything about this?" my voice was trembling.

They looked at each other in confusion as if they knew something about it.

"Actually yes, but please don't get mad at Kevin. He actually didn't meant to hurt you. He likes you...uh.. I mean he does not want you to burst into tears so he was waiting for the right moment." Ben spoke.

"And Jenny you knew about this right? Why didn't you tell me?" my expression was a mixture of sorrow and anger. Let's say it as 'sorger'.

And suddenly I saw a lady running towards us. I suppose her to be Kevin's mom.

"Oh my darling! Ben where is he? Jenny is he fine? Tell me. Tell me." she cried out loud.

Ben hugged her and calmed her,"He's fine now. Doctors said he was out if danger. Just relax. I'll be back." he went leaving her and I sat beside her.

I never thought mom's are so sensitive. I wish I had this type of mom. I put my hand on her shoulder and she slept on Jenny's shoulder.

I too drifted off against the wall. I woke up soon before I rubbed my eyes after this terrible nightmare! Or we can say 'terrible past'.

I saw little girl, that was me, and I was dancing like an idiot. I was with a couple whom I called my dad and mom. But dancing alone in the middle of the night, in the middle of the road, I heard someone shout,"Lacey move aside!" But who cares, dance was my passion. And suddenly a pair if hands pushed me resulting me falling on the other side of road and a loud sound 'Bang!'. As I turned, my parents were dead on the road leaving me and the drunken car driver on the street.

Oh God! Why is this happening again? Why is the past repeating itself? I just want Kevin to be safe. God save him!

I got up and checked my phone. It was six in the morning. The I walked towards the water cooler. I drank one and took two for Jenny and Kevin's mom. As I reached I handed them the glasses. Kevin's mom stared at me for a while but soon she drank and turned towards Jenny. "You called me, right?" she asked.

"Actually I did." my voice trembled.

She turned to me. "I'm Lacey! Nice to meet you." I smiled a bit.

She looked down. Confused. Thinking. And again looked into my eyes cupping my face on her hands.

"Lacey! You're so beautiful. I knew my son's choice will be nice. He really likes you." was all she said before my phone buzzed. It was dad. I got up and went away from them to pick it up.

"H-Hello!" I shiver.

"When are you coming back?" he shouted.

"Can I stay today with Jenny? I'll come by evening!" Suddenly I felt Kevin's mom's eyes on me and whispered something to Jenny.

"Okay so do one thing stay there for the following night also. I and Nichole have to go for a party and I can niether take you there nor trust you to stay with your brother. So better you stay away from us for the day!" He spoke as they both looked at me.

"Yaa see you then. Love you!" I said so to assure them it was really my DAD!

"Fuck off! Don't ever say that." and he hung up. I knew what his reaction would be but still I had to say this.
