**Kevin's POV**
The next day I woke up at 5:59 AM just like old times and my alarm buzzed in a minute. This is a perfect life where you beat time. I got up and stretched myself that's when I saw the shirt on my chair that I wore yesterday. Memories ran back into my mind and a smile made it's way on my lips.
Yesterday was the best day of my life! Some how swinging and humming and dancing, I had a quick bath and got ready for school. I had a feeling that today will be a good day. Something good will happen. Yay! I'm excited.
After having a last look at my grey hoodie and black jeans, I wore my Reebok white shoes and grabbing my bag I walked downstairs.
"Morning dad!" I chirped.
"Good morning son! How was your date last night?" He asked scrolling through his phone.
"It was good. We really enjoyed our outing. Thanks for the suggestion."
"Your welcome! I'm glad you finally got your dream girl." He smirked looking at me.
"Not yet but soon, dad. Yesterday Helen was asking about you in the Ocean Prime!"
"Oh yeah I received her call two days back! She and Gavin are now looking for funds to expand their business. They needed help in set-up and finance." He said taking a sip of his coffee.
"Oh that's cool!" I said as I joined him on the table.
"Kevin, do you know if Lacey's ready? Call her down here for breakfast!" My mom said coming out of the kitchen.
Oh no! I can't face her. I just can't! Say no!
"Yeah sure, I'll just check her upstairs." I said, practically regretting.
She smiled and returned to her work. I slowly got out of my place and walked the stairs leading to her room. I was so scared to face her but still...
Oh God! How do people resist this type of situation?
I slowly knocked the door but no respond came. I tried again but still... no response. I took a deep breath and twisted the door knob.
"Lacey?" I called out.
There she was. Lying peacefully under the covers. I went up there and softly shook her.
"Lacey get up we have school in half an hour." I said.
My hand moved to her hair and I tugged in a small strand behind her ear and that's when I realized. I ran of of the room.
"Mom come up here! She is as hot as fire. She has fever!" I panicked.
I went back in and heard rushing footsteps. I sat beside her and took her hand in mind. I rubbed it to make her cold hands a bit warmer. My mom entered the room with the first aid kit.
"Let me see!" She sat on the other side and put the meter in her mouth. My heart rate was increased a lot. After a minute mom took it out.
"Relax Kevin, she's fine. Just a bit of fever and after a medicine gone in a few hours. I'll be back!" She got up and probably gone in her room.
I shook her a bit harder this time. Her eyes moved slightly. Soon they opened a bit and finally saw me.
"Finally you're awake!" I smiled to myself.
"What happened? Why are you here? Don't we have to go t-" she got up but her hand moved to her head. "Oh crap! My head!" She spoke in pain.
"No don't get up!" I instantly made her sleep with my hand caressing her hair. "You have a slight fever so we are not going to school!"
