The first person I text was Jennifer. I wanted to see if we could FaceTime that night, that way I would be getting out of New York quicker.
She answered almost straight away,
'Hell yeah! About an hour okay? :)'
I replied as soon as I read it,
'Great! I've got really good news!:)'
My phone lit up just as quick,
'Omg I can't wait! :D'
---------------------------------------------------
I tried to FaceTime with Jenn a couple of times, she finally picked up on the third ring. This conversation chose whether I was staying in New York on my own, or going back to Melbourne with all my, very missed, nut-cases. I was quite nervous and shy to be honest.
"Hey girlfriend!" She said with a huge smile on her face, I'm guessing she was excited for my big news.
"Hey.. Erm.. I've got good news, but it has one condition.." I said too shy considering I've known her for two years. I guess I had a reason to be nervous, I hadn't spoke to her for two weeks, we kept in touch for about three, but that soon faded.
"Omg! Tell me, tell me, tell me!" She said clapping her hands, this made me smile, and I knew I shouldn't be shy, she's one of my best friends, she can't say no..
"I'm moving back to Melbourne!"
She screamed too loud for my hearing to handle, especially when I had my earphones in. "Seriously?! That's not good news, that's amazing news! What's the condition?"
"Okay, the only way my parents are going to let me move, is if I'm staying with someone I know, and your the closest person to me in Melbourne, and I would really apprecia-"
She cut me off, screaming a lot louder this time, "OMG, OF COURSE YOU CAN STAY WITH ME! Wait.. Are your Mom and Dad not coming with you?.."
---------------------------------------------------
The conversation went on for about an hour, planning where I was staying, what we were going to do, when. The excitement filled my body, I couldn't wait to get back.
The tickets were booked that night and I made Jenn not tell anyone I was coming back.
It took me about a week to get packed, and say my goodbyes to the few friends I made in New York, quit my part-time job, before I knew it, I was on my way back to the airport.
The airport was busy, really busy. I obviously started crying, I was leaving my parents for god knows how long. The couple of hours waiting time flew by, but when I eventually got to the departing area, the speaker spoke, not sounding sympathetic what so ever "Flight 231784 will be delayed until further notice."
I ended waiting for 5 whole hours, I rang Jenn who was meeting me at Melbourne airport. She understood how airports can be, I said I would ring her when I was there instead.
---------------------------------------------------
I got there and rang Jenn straight away. She was already outside waiting, being the good friend she is.
I hopped in her car, to blasting music. We both screamed and squeezed each other really, really tight. I missed her, I couldn't wait to see everyone!
"OMG I've missed my pumpkin pie so much!" She squealed with joy.
"And I've missed my coconut cream pie!"
The reason we gave these nicknames was because when I first moved here in Melbourne, I was as orange as anything, this city changed me to be the natural person I am today, and even though she was living in this warm place, Jenn was as pale as anything. We thought it would be cute, and the names stuck.
We set off back to Jenn's house after getting my luggage in the car. This was it, I was back!
(A/N - I would love if people vote up for my Fanfictions and get me more reads, comment anything, thankyou :) I'll upload another chapter soon.)
