The car ride to my house was exactly what I predicted it to be, silent and filled with tension. I wasn't backing down and neither was he. So when he pulled up at my house and exited as quickly as he came, my feelings were not bruised. I simply entered my quiet home, peeled off my clothing, and snuggled underneath my comfy covers.

The next morning, I woke up with a surprise covering the screen of my phone.

Three missed calls from Chresanto and one voicemail.

"Hey.. I hope you're sleeping and not purposely ignoring my phone calls Azalea. Look, I just want you to know I'm sorry for the way I acted earlier, I was out of line. I apologized to my mom too, forgive me alright? I'll see you after your game today."  With that the brief voicemail ended. Just as I was about to place my phone down and get my day started it began to buzz.

Chresanto, 9:03 a.m
Can I bring you breakfast or am I still in trouble?

I stared at the screen of my phone and simply shook my head. I removed my covers and trotted to the restroom, succumbing myself to a forty-five minute shower.

After getting ready, I grabbed my duffel bag and phone only to have it buzz in my hand again. Two unread messages, one from Chresanto and one from Christine.

Christine, 10:24 a.m
Hey! I'm outside girly.
Chresanto, 9:10 a.m
I'll take that as you're still mad, guess I'll see you at about 7:30. Good luck, do your best.

I slipped my phone into my sweats pockets and headed out the door. I saw Christine wave and smile at me through her car window, and returned the favor.

"Morning." She said as I slid into the passenger seat and tossed my bag into the back.

"Morning, thanks for picking me up today. Nana decided to go out last night." I chuckled.

"You know it's no problem, plus it's the least I could do after all your grandma has done for me, not to mention the team."

Not only was Nana, my biggest supporter but my teammates as well. She'd bake for our fundraisers, even knit our own personal quilts. There was a time, when the athlete's ceremony was taking place. Christine was at odds with her family, so none of them showed up. She had no one to pin her "Most Outstanding Player" button on her, so what did Nana do? She got up and pinned it on her, told Christine that she was proud of her and kissed her cheek. After that Nana made sure to support us both at every home game she made it to, not to mention the team.

"So you and the Richmond guy huh?" She said nudging my arm softly.

"No. Never ever." I said sternly.

"Come on, Zae admit it he's super fine isn't he?"

Yes.

"No he's an idiot."

"An idiot who's checking for you, go for it. The whole time at Roma's he stared at you while Shonda practically drooled over him." She laughed. "He's coming to game isn't he?"

My silence ignited a series of squeals inside the car. "Now we for sure have to win, tell your boo to bring you some flowers."

"First he is not my boo and two I hope he does not come for his sake." I said rolling my eyes.

"Uh oh, what did he do?"
